I'm looking to get rid of my '99 Durango and get either a used Tahoe or Expedition. (From previous threads most people had good things to say about the Tahoe). I was wondering how many miles did those full-size SUV's have? Any problems after 100k? 200K?

I have a 2000 Silverado with 70K miles on it. Very similar to the tahoe, same engine if it if the 5.3 As well as my gf's uncle has a tahoe he tows his boat with has 116K on it. That is a 99 tahoe and no major mechanical problems. Are you looking at buying new or used?

I'm looking used, '02-03 probably. I found an '03 with 44K miles and was wondering how long Tahoe's have lasted without big-time mechanical problems.

AS well as this forum I'm always on fullsizechevy.com It is an awesome site with tons of helpful members. You could always browse around there. But from memory of reading posts people have tahoes with 200K and no major mechanical problems. But fullsizechevy.com is a great place to start.

Probably a different engine but, my '95 Astro Van has 196K. The engine was replaced at 30k but has been trouble free since. Transmission has been leaky over the years but otherwise solid. Get a Van and a pack of kids then you'll be stylin

I bought my wife a tahoe and myself a suburban in 03...wife has 45k miles with zero trips to the dealer.

I now have 95k miles on my suburban. Just changed the tires 10k ago, STILL HAVE THE SAME BRAKES, THEY WONT CHANGE THEM BECAUSE THEY SAY THEY ARE PERFECT, zero maintenance issues, just oil changes. Has not seen the dealer since I drove it off the lot.

15mpg towing my boat.

I have no brand loyalty when it comes to vehicles, but after one ford, and two piece of crap dodges, I am sold on GM.

Have a 99 Silverado with 227000 miles still run strong. Only problem I ever had was the fuel pump went out at 216000. It has been a great truck.

1998 Chevy Astro with 115K miles. I've had problems this month but they are unrelated to towing.

Had a '95 Yucon with 165'000, then a '96 Suburban with 145,000, and now a '98 Tahoe with 105,000, GM is the only way to go..the only thing with the 5.7 is the intake manafold...but as you see i have had three and my '93 MC has 1,185hrs. So you see GM & MC = THE BEST!!

Haha i dont know if they have a Carmax in OR but here on the east coast it is the best way to sell a car. You can trade it in at trade in value without having to buy one of theirs. Yes you may lose some money but you do not have to go through the hassle of selling. Good to see your making an excellent choice.
