Wow, Sorry i've never seen one of these in person. But looking at their website and seeing some of the features i'm pretty blown away. The way they do the ballast, 2 speed tranny, 5 year warranty on vinyl, Lifetime gauges. How are these guys not killing it? Or are they? Anyways, i didn't missout getting a Malibu b/c all the MB models are too long and too heavy for my private lake, and the closest dealer is Dallas (500 miles). But if i lived in Dallas and these turned out to be a nice as they look on the site i'd definately get one. Anyone know what these start at, no MSRP on the site. For example the 220V...is it $45-50k or are these way more expensive than BUs?

tj. i have a friend that has a 07 b52 and he loves it. mb has a smaller manufacturing plant and doesn't make as many boats as the big boys. thats not to say that they make a bad boat because they dont. the friend of mine works with high class cars and has drove a lot of them. he also has been in and works on a lot of different boats. so he knows what quality is all about. he had a older mb before he got his new one. i think that mb is in a growing part and really takes pride in quality. after the brand builds its self up. then they can mass produce like the big boys

They are not more expensive. I would say less. For 2008 they have the Patented Ballast System that will empty in 60 seconds and drain in 60 seconds. They are as nice as they look. Way more attention to fit and finish, they just dont make as many boats, as the big 3 or 4. Go Demo one. The V23 Team is the biggest stock out of the box wake there is IMHO. There are a few 2007's left if you can find one. Here are some local to me, but you would have to have it shipped, and then make the trip to Dallas once a year to have your warranty issues fixed. Its a PCM motor so most dealers can service it. This dealer is offering free shipping as well. http://www.mbboats.com/Gallery/gallery.htm He will get you a smokin deal as well.

What's the difference between MB Boats and MB Sports? Are they the same or different companies?

So are they using Calabria's Pure Vert ballast system now? Empty and Drain in 60 seconds?

That wake system is called The Pure Vert, it was invented by Mike Murphy and licensed to Calabria. Now Mike is licensing it to other companies as well. I'd look for it in many other boat brands in the next couple years.

Yeah, that ballast system is Slick. It didn't even occur to me to look for these for sale on onlyinboards.com to find the pricing, i was surprised there are actually several on there for sale, and they are about the same as Malibus pricewise. like i said if i were in a different situation i would certainly check these out...

Hey Chad, I am going out to California in two weeks to watch the build on my 2008 Tomcat. I will have it at the Midwest Militia Demo Days event in May for anyone in the midwest who wants to check it out and/or ride behind it. MB said the surf wake on it is now better than it was on the V23 which from what I saw was pretty damned good. Let us know how your demo goes. Will your 2008 have the fill/drain in 60 seconds (pure vert) system on it? Ian OnlyInboards.com

I poked around in a Tomcat at the boat show...I think it was an '07. There are features I liked and disliked (as with any boat/brand), but one thing for you current and future owners to be aware of in case you didn't notice...and I say this ONLY to inform. The rear hatch has a power lift, but the compartment doors are latching flip open doors. (Confirmed with the sales rep) You have to make sure the flip open doors are not latched when operating the power lift or you could cause some damage. Congrats on your rides guys...enjoy them!

Ian, I think you need to send one of those rollers the patrol's way. That thing would be sick off a double up

fill and drain in 60 seconds on the ballast.... "No sir, there is no ballast in this boat" Yep, the fisherman and patrol at Oak Run are going to love me this year.... especially with the NVS speakers on the tower too!

I was up in Portland a few weeks ago talking with the MB dealer in Oregon city. These boats are awesome to look at. He did say the surf wake is not as good as the V23 because the width of the boat. I tend to surf more and more so I am staying with my V23 which has a great surf wake.

Hi Ian: Yeah that is one of the selling points for me. I saw a video of the ballast draining and all I can say is WOW!!! The pic's above are awesome, I can not wait to be the person posting them. The only option that i'm not totally sold on is the oceanled lighing my wife had to have (LOL).. The boat quality is amazing IMO. Did you get the 2 speed trans? I just went for the ZR6 motor upgrade, I'm still looking to get a right hand rotation drive setup, my wife and I are both goofy footed riders and after all the boat is for us, and not our regular footed friends.. :>) Keep me posted on your build, what color scheme did you go with? That's a solid color scheme, we went with white in the same places and gray/red in the swoops and claw. Post some pic's when you get them.

John, The boat is ready. I'm just waiting for the damn weather to move above 60. What's worse is I spoke w/ Fredrick the other day & the pop bags should be in this week. 400lbs more just waiting to be added to the 2500 currently on board!
