So I finally bit the bullet and bought a new truck. Ive been driving a 2001 Audi A4 for a few years now, and after a 1300 dollar repair bill, and the fact I work in construction, I realized its time to get something more practical. I never thought I'd buy a Dodge, but I shopped at Toyota, Ford, Chevy, and I couldnt touch a new 2wd decent truck for much under 30k. I researched everything on the market, and in most every aspect the Ram 1500 came out on top. I checked them out and I couldnt believe what they were selling for... at this point the price is too good to not buy one.

Dodge's incentives are killer right now and I ended up walking out the door with a mineral grey 4x4 quad cab big horn with the 390hp hemi, tow package, tow mirrors, adj. pedals for 24,900! This truck's MSRP is $37,000. Not only that, but I got the interest rate I was quoted by a credit union matched by GMAC. I just graduated college, so this is sort of a present to myself, plus I have a good secure job so why not?

Anyways, truck have certainly made leaps and bounds in terms of technology.. 390 hp v8, I average 16 in the city and 18-20 on the highway. Not bad. This has more features than my audi... whats really cool is the 110v outlet in the dash. With 390 HP it really moves pretty quick! Thats about as much as my 68 AMC Javelin which gets about 4 MPG. A house is next this summer, and when I have a enough cash, a boat. Heres a pic...

That is a smoking deal!

I just bought a 2008 1500 2wd with 5.7 Hemi for $22k at Carmax. I'd say you definitely got the better deal. Of course I live in Texas where the demand for pick up trucks never dies, even when gas is $5 a gallon, so deals like the one you got are a little tougher to come by.

Nice truck! I really like the looks of the new Rams!

Not sure where you got your pricing on other trucks though. I got a 2010 Tundra with 5.7 engine,4x4, tow package, cold weather package, and double cab for 28.5k out the door. 1500 Chevy crew cab, 4x4, with 6.0, and max tow package was around 33k out the door. 2500 dodge quad cab 4x4 hemi I was looking right at 30k

Hmm, the dealers you were talking to must have been much more flexible. I sat at Chevy for 3 hours trying to get a 2010 2wd midlevel 1500 for 25,000 with no luck. Went to Ford, and they were talking 35k for a 4wd extended cab

Nice truck. Does your truck have the exhaust tip cutouts in the bumper? I saw one the other day like that and it really looked nice.
