depends on the competition.

In NorCal, a couple mobes, couple 540's, h/s & t/s railey based tricks and the rest inverts (grabbed) will get you in the hunt, Washington & Oregon INT about the same.

no matter what division you are in you can learn how to "play the book," to win. you don't really have to be the best, you just have to be smart, with what you throw.

does anyone know if they'll let you throw a batwing in the advanced class

if your doing batwings then your not advanced as far as im concerned.

Batwing is 1350. Advanced is allowed up to 1250. So no, a batwing is not allowed in Advanced.

It wasnt INT but in outlaw in one of my comps, someone did a toe 7, switch toe seven, a few mobes, and a nuclear glide. He rode a whole pass with a broken board(not in half just would bend bck and fourth).

At arkansas INT, a mobe, grabbed 540 both ways, some switch inverts, and OA grabbed spins will get you somewhere

In NorCal, on Saturday, Tootsie, Whirly, Toe 5, Heel 3, Switch 3, and 5 clean stock inverts (one grabbed) took it. On Sunday, it took 3 mobes, 2 raley based tricks, and 5 huge mostly grabbed stock inverts- no spins.

They let a no Spin pass take it?

Caleb, I didn't see a no spin pass on this thread?

A no spin pass could easily take an INT event because scores are based on trick point values. Takes a 720 to beat any mobe. No guidelines requiring variety in a pass.

I agree as it relates to point values, but I think outlaw gets something like 5,000 available style points & that could swing the balance if the style judge was a spinner

And i agree with Randy on the style points, We would have killed somebody's Style points in arkansas who didnt throw a single spin

In NorCal, our style is based on a largely objective set of criteria, and yes, it did hurt him not to have any spins. His trick points were pretty high though, so style didn't make the difference in this case.

BTW- I challenge anybody to come up with a more consistent and fair style judging system that what we have used this year in the upper divisions in NorCal INT. If you do, we'll use it next year!

In Outlaw, there are 2500 style points. The high point runs are usually in the 14000-16000 point range. So, style makes some difference, but it is certainly not the whole story. It comes down to this: read the rule book. You can put together a high point scoring run using your personal strong suits. Everybody knows what the rules are going in, and everybody is subject to the same set of rules. In my mind, that is a very fair system.
