Ladies and Gentlemen, the box has turned out awesome - but Memorial Day is coming and I only have till thursday to finish peicing together this install. I am thinking that I am going to just epoxy resin the box so it is waterproof for the weekend - What other options do I have so that it "looks good" and is ready for weekend with the idea that I might want to put a fiberglass layer around it for anesthetics.

Bare wood + water + my clumbsy girlfriend could be bad times!

Just waterproof it with epoxy resin and you are good to go. The fiberglass will add strength but not make it more waterproof. You can always glass over the resin later.

Resin covered in carpet is what I ended up with, and I'm very happy.

Do you resin the inside as well (vented box)?

I did not resin the inside of my vented box. But keep in mine sub boxes only live about 2 years before I change them to something else in my boat (always trying something new).

If the box is ported I would resin inside and out, it will keep it from molding on the inside . Also The more resin the better the box will sound. It seals it up better and it makes it alot stronger and less flex.

Herculiner or equivalent pick up truck bed liner if all you are looking for is a good, hard wearing, waterproof coating. It's a great vibration damper as well so coat both the inside and outside.
Be aware though, it will not add structural strength
