Whats better? Why? do the parks loosen up after a while. I have byerlys and im considering getting the parks. Would you recommend doing this for 20 dollars?

I've got the parks and theyre the best bindings ive ever ridden with. Of course its all a matter of preference and opion, but if you like them you'll be set after you break them in.

the parks' were cool and felt great but for me there was just wayyyy too much flexibility. great hold though..... cant find anything better then LF bindings though... ultras and transits.

I have both. The Byerly is easier to get in but sometimes loosens when you are riding (I am 190lbs though). The Parks works probably better but it is more work to get it on and I have already ripped the top back part because of this. The Parks has a more aggressive angle so I think it is better for more aggressive riding and more knee bent style.

i like the byerlys but as Parks would say, you will love those bindings!!

The knobs on the byerly bindings break off after one hard fall. I know from experience. Go with the parks. And the byerly boards are not good either. I would stay clear of anything with the name byerly on it.

Shelley, I have two pair of Byerlys and have never had the knob break off. They do sometimes come out but you can put them back in without tools. It's a pretty simple push and twist. Do you mean that you literally broke them?

My buddy had the byerlys on his 137 byerly and he had one hard fall and the knobs on the back of one of the bindings broke off. It is at the bottom of lake berryesa somewhere. I was just saying that after one hard fall they could pop off. I have the knob designe on my knowboarding boots and I hate them. I guess it's a personal preference. Good luck with them. I hope the samething doesn't happen to you.

The Byerly board is great actually if you have the skills to master it.

ive heard alot of different opinions on the byerly board. some like it alot and some dont.

Well I have the Byerly Bindings and lost a knob in the water within the first 10 times out. NO knob, can't tighten the boot = end of riding for the day. If I had it to do over I would have gotten the parks. It isn't worth losing a day of riding with the short season and few times I can get out.

Thank you!! haha I was right. That is exactly it! It's not worth wasting a day of riding on crappy binding.

Go with the PARKS!!!
They are awesome... I was considering teh Byerlys so I did a demo and I took a fall on a tantrum2blind and the knob snapped of like a twig.. luckily i was also demoing the parks at the same time so i through them on my board and was good the rest of the day... needless to say i went in gave him his demo binding back and bought the Parks.... no regrets they are awesome... i wasnt to crazy about LF bindings cuz I tried a few but its preference... but deffinetley Parks ove Byerlys}}}

I've found it's best to get some CWB Grips on sale at Overtons two sizes too small. This way, every time you come out, you've got to get back on the boat. Oh yeah, it's also cool in the winter time when you get the four-day stiff leg after the cramp you got from trying to pull your feet out. This approach gives you much more street cred.

If none of you have tried the new Transits, you owe it to yourselves to at least try a pair on. I just got a pair and I was blown away. Much different than anything you have ever felt. Soft and comfy, yet supportive. Unbelievable.

CWB Zeus. The 2005's are getting another round of upgrades. These are the most supportive, comfortable, durable bindings ever. I've been riding mine regularly since March & they look exactly the same as when they came out of the box. That way you don't have to worry about anything breaking.

Ive been riding the same pair of byerlys for the last two years and nothing has broken, and I take a lot of very hard falls. I also ride a 137 byerly board and love it. Also, my buddy got his parks bindings the same time as mine and his are ripping on the inside, but he likes them a bunch so its really more a matter of comfort if you ask me.

go for the transits
Old     (blabel)      Join Date: Jul 2001       07-07-2004, 8:08 PM Reply
They fit two different types of feet. I didn't like the Parks but I love the Byerly's/ I have a skinny foot. I didn't like the transits either, althought the footbed was unreal.

What's up Hairbanddude?

I have '03 Parks and I couldn't imagine riding with anything else now. Plus once they are broken in, you can get in and out of them pretty easy.

i do find myself tightening the byerlys during long rides, they tend to loosen up... other than that they are pretty trick
