I had ordered an Elemental Designs 12KD4. ED is currently having supply problems and couldn't guarantee delivery any time soon, so they allowed me to cancel the order.

What other subs compare, especially in a dual 4 ohm setup. I'm looking at Infinity Perfect 12.1 and JL 12w3 or 12w6. Any others I should consider?

That is too bad. Those are nice subs. I wonder what is going on with them?? The infinity perfects are a great choice. I would also recommend the JL w3 series. I have a JL w3 and it pounds and is rated for 250 watts which is great, but could handle more also.

Adrie Shiva, or if you can find one, an Adrie Vamp.

The Shivas are $125, dual 8ohm 12" subs.
Vamps were $75, dual 4ohm 12" subs on close out.

I've owned both the Infinitys and JLW6, between the two I like JLs better.

The jl's are a little more efficient. I do like those. I forgot- We got some of those vamps for my neighbor and they do pound and are very cheap. Anything adire makes is awesome. I love the shiva's also but you have to go free air or large vented which I know you have already ordered the enclosure for them. The vamps are redesigned shivas to work in a small enclosure.

gotta love the subjective world of car audio. I have never liked JLs for some reason.

Ya, JLs have their own sound. I actually gave my pair of Infinitys to a friend.

I'd say the Infinitys do sound more "natural", but I like the punch of the JLs better.

I have a pair of Vamps in .9ft^3 sealed each with 300watts on them and they get super loud in my car.

I "only" have a BP600.1 in my car... 300watts each to the Vamps! I'm looking to go to 1.5 ft^3 each, ported tuned to 30hz. Should be clean and loud!

My enclosure is an AudioFormz 1ft^3 fiberglass shell. I looked into the Adire Vamp but couldn't find any, so I settled on the ED.

The problem with ED is their fabricator. ED designs the speakers and contracts out the construction. Here's the story:

The new "K" is due in June, and should be pretty nice for the money, but I can't wait any longer.

I'm going with the Infinity Perfect 12.1D because my interior speakers are also Infinity and I can get it price matched through www.sounddomain.com. They got me my amps at a great price and on time. That's important to me right now!

Thanks!

For $150 I'd say a Resonant Engineering SE subwoofer. SQ isn't bad, but in the right box spl is amazing. http://www.respl.com/12se.html
Not too sure if its DVC 4ohm. There aren't too many subs that have great performance and price like the 12KD4. Maybe just wait until the new product line is out.

Nice sub but I thought they were up neer 200.00 or over.

MSRP is $239.00 for the SE. I've heard of people getting 'em for around $150 brand new.

that is a nice sub if you can pull it off for 150.00. you have to have a pretty decent powered amp to push it.

Ty, have you seen these subs on the internet before? They should be coming out soon.

I have never heard one but they get good feedback.

If you can catch them onsale, Audiomobile EVO 2212's are sweet subs. They have a 10" version as well that kick very hard. I am using 2 of the 10's in my boat and it is very impressive.

If you can find a crystal cmp for around that-it is another good deal.

Here's a 12" Kicker Solobaric L5 4 Ohm for $141.88 shipped. I'm real happy with the one I have in my boat.
