i BOUGHT A 2003 MALIBU VLX ON A EXTREME TRAILER THIS SPRING. NOTICED REAR AXLE SET REAL LOW. CAN'T GET FINGERS BETWEEN FENDER AND TIRE ON RIGHT SIDE. TALKED TO EXTREME THEY SAID TORSION AXLE TUBE PROBALY NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. LOOKS LIKE IT HAS ALREADY BEEN REPLACED BEFORE, PAINT MISSING ON BOLTS. ANYONE HAVING SIMILAR PROBLEM. SEEMS THAT SUSPENSION SHOULD LAST LONGER THAN 5-8 YEARS.

Sorry to hear about you trailer. I have a 2002 and had one of the axels fail this spring. A few years ago I had them adjusted and they held for a while. It is my understanding that there was a problem in the construction but it is out of warranty. I replaced both since it was just a matter of time before the other one failed also. If it is just tight you can adjust it but if it is sprung you need to replace. If they were already replaced an adjustment might hold The joys of boat ownership!!!
