I am looking at pulling the trigger on a Supra 07 22ssv or 21v, haven't decided yet which one. Does anyone know if either of these boats will fit in a 7ft garage? Also, which is the better boat? Dealership says 21v feels as big as the 22ssv. Both are the launch series.

M,

Funny you post this now. I am looking at pulling the trigger, as you say, on an 08 22 SSV. I was told that the wake on the 22 has more options depending on how you weight the boat, whereas the 21 is pretty much straight up. Both are fantastic rides. I am opting for the 22 as I will be pulling riders of all abilities.

I have a 7'6" garage opening that is 20 X 20 and was wondering if it would fit. I look forward to the responses as it might help answer my questions too.

Congrats if you "pull the trigger", and be sure to post pics.

The 21V probably "feels" as big as the 22SSV because Supra went & put that dumb-ass seat behind the driver on the 22.

Honestly, I haven't heard anything about the new 22SSV wake, but I have heard that the 21V is steep & wide. Last year I was trying to decide between the new 22SSV & an MB. Unfortunately, the Supra dealer wasn't getting any 22s until winter, and I had a great deal on the MB, so I took it.

I still like the look of the Supras though (minus that rear facing seat), and am interested to hear what people have to say about the 22's wake. In the end, you can't go wrong w/ either one.

Not sure what the exact height is, but it would be close. We have a 20v and we have to fold the tower down to get it under an 8ft roof. I could get you a measurement next time i'm at the storage but that might be a week or two.

I have the 07 21V. I just measured and the high point on the folded tower is about 87-88". A garage height of 7'6" should be sufficient. I would do your own measurement as a double check.

thanks,

rich

i have owned both and doubt you will get them in a 7' garage.... with all stock wheels and tires you are real close... literally could let some air out of the tires and make it happen probably....
the 22 wake is very steep and very finicky... by far the bigger wake (just my 2 pennies), but you have to have it dialed. 21v is all around a great boat, great wake... can't go wrong with either... there are several of us on here that have these so we would be happy to help you load it down...
If I had to do it again 21v or 22ssv??? Good question? Go with what you like better....

HEY DIGGS HOW ARE YOU WEIGHTING YOUR 22SSV AND WHAT SPEED/ROPE LENGTH/PLATE SETTINGS ARE YOU GOING WITH?

we have been running
-1150 bag in front locker + 300 lbs lead spread underneath that bag
-650 in each or the rear lockers
-We have to run about 23.5 - 24 to keep it nice and clean
-75' line

Here is a 22' in a 9.5wide door and not sure how deep but it is tight and has less than a foot on both sides when backing in.it fills the garage up with very little room to walk around and cannot walk behind at all.

Steve it looks like you're boat is an 04 mine is an 05. They are almost the same. The new 22 ssv is a deeper taller boat.

We have used the 21 and 22 in our events. We chose the 22SSV because of the wake and room in the boat. The 22 wake is big and lippy. I think with either the 21 or 22 you will be happy. Supra's quality has jumped leaps and bounds over the past few years and they continue to get better.

the way they come from factory they both will not fit in a 7 foot door. but you can get boatmate to make you up a jack that is welded up high on the swivel part that is bolted to the trailer where you can take it off the truck and let it down alot more than it will go with the stock jack and push it in the garage by hand. and even then you will only have a inch our less of space. there is probably another way to get it done but that should get you to 6 foot 11inches our so... hope that helps.

My garage is under 7', I can't remember exactly but I'll measure it tonight. I get my 07 21v in just barely! I do something similar to what edpaz said, but different.... Before I back into the garage, I unhitch the boat and switch my receiver hitch from a 6" drop to a 14" drop and then lower the boat back on the hitch using a floor jack. Dropping the tongue that much gives me enough room to back into the garage using the truck but it's very close. Once in the garage, I lift it off the hitch with the floor jack again until I can let the trailer jack back down and there it sits. My truck is a 4x4 dodge 3/4 ton so you may not need that much of a drop to make this work. I have actually put it in the same way with a 6" drop on a 2wd 1/2 ton chevy. I was very happy when I figured out this worked.

'06 21v with a standard 7' door and it goes in barely. Won't go with it hooked to my truck, but I unhitch it from that and hook my wifes Pathfinder to it and it squeaks in. Think the door is like 9 1/2 wide. You have to be straight. No rookie.

Our Supra Launch 20SSV fits in my attached garage (7ft). We just fold the tower down it slides right in. That was a main concern of mine when we bought. One thing you can do is unhook from the tow vehicle and crank the front down then push it in. This will gain you several inches of clearance. Once in the garage you can crank it back up as you should have plenty of room once in.

My garage opening is 6'11" but with the small bump up the clearance is only 6'10". The 21V fits.

You need to make sure of the height on the trailer you're going to buy- they vary a bit. My buddy bought a 22ssv (07) this past year and had his garage door re-done to 8' ( i think) so it wouldn't be an issue. At 7' it was a problem for the 22ssv on the trail he got- I don't remember what kind of trailer it is. The new towers on the Supra are awesome but the break point is way up there- and that is the problem. good luck

Does anyone happen to know the width of the Supra 21v on trailer? So I guess the standard trailer width? Thanks!

my guess is about 8' 6" wide, but not exactly sure...

Mike, My buddy Dale had a 21 launch and it fit in his 7' garage door, same boat as the 21v just a direct drive.
