Arriving Oct. 31st, who knows where I might be able to sneak in a set with the locals, I know they are protective, but I hear it is possible if you come with the right attitude and act respectful and wait till they say you can paddle in. Not the best ocean surfer, so I probably only want to hit some small waves(2ft to 3ft ). Paia might be a good place to meet some laid back locals from what I hear. Maybe if I have a nice safety meeting with them, I might be able to get at least one set in.LOL any info would help. And if you know anyone I can hook up with over there, shoot me a PM. Thanks !
