Tower Mounted Full Boat Covers/Shelter

Does anyone make a full boat cover/shelter that is tower mounted? I am envisioning something like those portable garages except instead of using flimsy poles that break apart in a slight breeze, use the rock solid structures that already exist (your tower and the guide rails on the back of the trailer) Seems like it wouldn't be too hard to fab up something that uses the tower as a center pole, the rear boat guides on the trailer as support in the rear and then some sort of removable pole that can be mounted on the front of the trailer. I would still use the regular cover as well.

Anyways, anybody seen anything like this? Pics would be great.

Yes, they do. I think there was a guy on TT from Marcos Islands that has a friend who makes them. They are spendy, though. I would check www.skiboatcovers.com and see if they can custom make you one.....

I'm not worry about spendy (well a little maybe) as it costs me about $130 a month ($800) each year to store it inside a warehouse all winter where I can't get to it. I would have no problem dropping 1K-2K on a system that would last several winters and still allow me to go out on the 55 degree days we get here in WA in January.

If I can't find one I may do the custom route. Basic plan would be a sunbrella (or something sunbrella-ish) top that covers everything and is supported by the tower with guylines from the tower to the rear trailer boat guides and the front removeable pole. I will attach a removable hoop (think a big elongated letter "C") to the boat guides and the front pole to keep the top from laying against the boat. The last couple of feet would be a zip on skirt made from plastic material with sand or something sewn into the bottom that would seal off the drafts and still be easy to clean (I wouldn't want sunbrella fabric lying in the dirt all winter)

Something like this? This has worked great for me. Especially because you never have to worry about ponding water. Don't know how it would work in snow.
