So yesterday was my birthday.

Went to the Toronto boat show and worked with my Sales guy at Buckeye Marine and working out an incredible deal on a new 40th anniversary X-star. Oddly enough never thought the pricing would be soo good. Originally I was in the market for an X-2..

It's a factory order unit with late April delivery.

got the following on the boat

MCX
Ipod adapter
Bimini
Upgraded tower speakers with lights (blk annonized)
Teak platform
mooring cover

Some of the things lists are standard with the 40th..unlike the normal X-star..

I was talking with my rep last night amazing Mastercraft sales up in Toronto.. no signs of a recession.. at all..

One full day left at the show.. over 25 new Mastercraft boats sold... incredible!! Glad I was one of them!

My sales guy sold 2 40th Anniversary X-stars yesterday... people better hurry up if you want a limited edition boat along with the luggage, back pack and garage mat... only 500 made

Here are some pics for views.. p.s. I only got 2 tower speakers..

Congrats, the new 40th is very good looking. Someone told me dealers are doing up to 25% off MSRP any truth in that?

Not too sure about 25% off MSRP..

My dealer doesn't try fooling people with showing "huge" discounts...

They only deal with "selling price" which is realistic..

Your not building value in the boat showing MSRP.. it's only a ficitious number set by the mfg.

All dealers depending on their volume and arrangements with Mastercraft have different "selling" prices..

The boat I got was only discounted a couple thousand, but if you compared to MSRP it be huge...

Michael,

Thanks!! So Stoked about it! Can't wait!

Good looking boat Greg very sharp. I was just told by two different people what they paid for their x-stars and was shocked by the price.

good deal man that is a sweet boat. I would imagine a lot of the through the roof prices will be coming down along with the economy as builders have plenty of room to come down and still make money.

Ewing? Why would you be shocked?

All depends on how you option it out...

You put L18, 4 speakers, heater, lights, rear lights, battery charger, hydrolic steering, etc it going to shoot upto a scary scary price point.

I kept it simple to keep cost low as the boat already has so soo much!

I was shocked because I thought the prices were very cheap and didn't think you could get even a "base" xstar for what they paid. According to MSRP they were 25-30% off. I do understand that options definitely make the price go through the roof.

Regardless great looking boat, did I say that yet?

Consider moving upto the LY-6. $3500 more than the MCX. Well worth it. The MSRP on the 40th Hull vs. the Reg X-Star is only $1500 MSRP TO MSRP. The trailer is a Big difference. CONRATS and Enjoy.

PS Folks purchasing large ticket items in excess of $75000. The economy is not hurting them.

Congrats man. You are going to be pumped that you made the step up to that. Not to mention you are going to be happy holding onto to that one for a long time.

The 40th model at the Denver Boat show had an MSRP of $104k (maybe it was $106k) and after all of the discounts it was down to $78k I think (not sure what options it had) so 25% off of MSRP sounds about right but as we all know MSRP is a joke anyway.

Thanks Travis.. had your voice telling me in the background to go for the X-star.

I am def going to hold onto this for a long time.. as you can't get any better! Not to mention it's a limited edition!

TK- LY-6 engine was another $2300.. Ask Travis even.. it's not really required unless your going to be putting like 4000lbs of ballast in the boat.

Difference from X-star to 40th at my dealer was $2100 "selling price" not msrp.

I got my boat without a trailer.. it's not needed as it stay's moored at our family cottage all season long.

If need by my dealer might have a 2004 X-star trailer for me cheap.. def do the job and not $7000++!!

Nice boat. Funny comment! Its nice to know that the MasterCraft Salesman is also a Chief Economist. I will definitely be sharing his thoughts with my clients and tell them that the red numbers they are seeing on their tickers... is their imagination!

So far the Canadian economy seems to be running strong for the short term at least. No I am not an economist, but I do like to read!

Interesting article dated November 7, 2007. I guess we will see how things pan out. 500+ point drop in the market today is probably testing the nerves of Canadian Investors... 800+ point drop over last week and now this 500+ point drop... I would rather dump $75,000 into dividend paying bank stocks... then a brand new boat...

But thats just me.

Greg you could have probably got that boat for half price if you waiting for that little kid:

Ryan X-Star's dad to buy the boat and then have him sell it online!

HeHateMe, lets hope this is just a little down turn. But you are definitely right about the 2 big drops over the last week. If our neighbors to the south keep on this slide we almost have to follow. I am glad that I am not involved in exporting!

Well... looking at US Futures... they are off 4% so I would expect a 4-5% decline in the US Stock Markets tomorrow. I would assume there may be some declines in the Canadian market tomorrow... only time will tell.

It is amazing that I can now buy a 1-2 year old home in the USA for the same price it would cost me to buy a brand new Wake Boat in Canada.

I am just glad that my boat was bought when it was bought... and does everything I need it to do... and it is paid for... I couldn't imagine financing at this point...

Cash at this point is very powerful... Just waiting for a good entry point... then use profits and gains to buy more toys...

Would love to have the disposable income to buy a new boat like this XStar... or any other boat for that matter... but must be patient.

Oh sorry about the hijack. Nice new X-Star, I am sure the metallic flake will look great on the water. Is it spring yet? Did I mention winter sucks!
