Hey all,

I have a quick question for you cable park riders. What is the easier way to advance your body into the handle when going for spins? Is it all about yanking on the way up? Does it have to do with the edge in?

I am landing hs fs 5s and would to get to 7 but i feel like I am not advanced into the handle enough to go for another spin thus making the second pass nearly impossible for me.

In other words, what can I do to ease up the line tension in the air?

Thanks guys!! Apreciate your help!

Kick it hard and pop hip into handle, commit to second handle pass

What about the edge in? I want to have the least amount of tension I can possibly have.
By the time I put my front hand on the handle @540 it is so far away from my hip its impossible to make another one.
I will try to pop into the handle but I am almost positive it will mess up my axis pretty bad.

Thanks a lot behindtheboat, I really apreciate your help

While I'm in the same spot as you, 5 looking to go to 7 and haven't landed one myself. I'll say that a lot of my progress came from thinking about yanking with 2 hands again in a similar fashion you did for your first 360 when you look to go to 7.
Hold edge into the kicker to make line tension
yank on the way up the kicker to make slack with 2 hands
Make handlepass
Put both hands back on the handle and yank again
make handlepass and ensure you don't catch your back edge.

I put this together as it was just sitting on my hard drive but it is of Jay Roehm doing a switch hsfs7 and you can clearly see he puts both hands back on the handle at like 15s when his arms are out straight and then doesn't remove his hand for the handlepass until he has pulled again and his arms are at like 90*.

Hope it helps.

Thanks Vinnie, lets land that first 7 soon! In terms of ensuring not to catch an edge, its not like I catch them on purpose haha! jk but anyways.
I guess it makes sense I will try to yank hard again with both hands @360 but everytime I think too much about yanking hard it messes up my axis somehow. Thanks for the tips guys very helpful

Lots of different methods on cutting in. I prefer going pretty hard and flattening out right at/on the kicker, but that's more to get a good kick and pop. Helps loosen the line a bit too, probably.

Don't yank in, think of it more as advancing up and in on the handle, and get the handle passes early.
