In a lot of the pictures you guys post the wave seems to not curl over until 10-15ft back. In my families boat it curls over right away, and can get in the way. Is that because of more ballast or speed or both? Right now I have just rear ballast on the drivers side with all the people there too. We are also using an '05 vlx.

here is what my wake looks like.Upload

I have a different boat BUT I run stock ballast in the front 500# and 800# on the port/starboard side (depending on which side we're surfing). I added a 500" sac in the rear locker ans a 500# sac on the side seat. It made a deep trough and made the wake super long.
Board More/Work Less!

Chris,
What speed, how much ballast, using a wedge?

This picture is wedge down, rear driver side ballast of about 250lbs., 3 people on the driver side and some kids spread out in rear. We are going about 9.7 mph.

Chris,
I have seen that with the switchblade and regular rotation prop on an Enzo the goofy wake (driverside) looks like your picture. I think the wedge and prop rotation don't work well together. Try without the wedge.

well on our 06 vlx we are running side and center ballast 500lbs of lead in the rear locker and a 500lbs on the side seat with 2 300lbs one on the side seat in front of the 500lbs sac and the other on the floor. super big wake and very nice dosent curl over. we can acctually surf two people with no rope.
