Looking for a vRide. Just drove an 08 but the dealer is stuck on $ 47K. Sweet ride but I might consider a used 07. I think that the 08 has electronic throttle and cable shift. Someone please confirm for me. Also tell me what the 07 has for throttle and shift. Is there a difference between the steering on an 07 and 08. Any leads on a new or used 07 or 08 would be appreciated. I live in Seattle and would look anywhere in the western US......Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho and so forth.

Andy, I can tell you that the 2007 vRide has the fly-by-wire (electronic throttle/shifting) standard as well.

The only difference that I am aware of between the 07 and 08 vRide is the stereo.

2007 : Has a Sony with 1 gig mp3 memory in faceplate.

2008: Has JBL, comes with 1 (or 2?) gig Malibu thumbdrive that is located in the glovebox. Neat b/c you can plug into the usb with the thumbdrive.

I was debating between a 2007 & 2008 at the beginning of this year. I ended up getting a new 07 that was leftover instead of the 08. But I did spend some time in both, and I can tell you I truly believe that the stereo is the only difference.

$47k is not out of line for a 08 vRide, if it has some of the good options like, stereo pack, ballast (rear and mid), boardracks, and CS cover.

hope this helps...good luck!!!!

note, around $47k was were i was seeing the prices for the well equipped (like above) 2008 vRides around feb/march of last year.

That brandnew 2008 is now nearly a year old in my opinion. I'd be expecting to spend maybe 10-15% less than that now. Especially since the vRide is different in 09.

What was the difference between the standard engines for 2006 and 2007. I know the 2008 has the LCR 320hp engine.

Same back to 2005..... at least.

Yeah, what Bill says above is right, engines are exactly the same.

Scott is mistaken though. 2007 & 2008s are fly-by-wire throttle systems. So again, no difference there.

You can buy mine. But I of course am upside down in it so I couldn't sell it for $46K unless I get my sales tax back out of it. Living in this state sux for sales tax! I took a $4K penalty to ever try to sell it to someone directly.
