Aloha - Just moved recently to Alameda California
Where would be a good place to go ride? I've heard alot about the Delta, but since I'm not familiar with that area I feel more comfortable with trying a lake. Born and raised in Hawaii.

Leroy,

Lake Berryessa in Napa is probably the closest lake to you.

Leroy,

Welcome to the East Bay and the board...

Check the link above for local lakes, maps and campground information. It is more of a fishing site but serves a great purpose for lakes / layouts / etc. Good Luck!

Thank you - That is a great link. I've been reading alot of posts about Berryessa, seems fairly close by, I'm going to check it out.

Hey Leroy,

I grew up in Alameda. The Delta is your best bet unless you can ride weekdays. Orwood resort is about an hour from you.

Berryessa and pretty much every other lake are a wreck on the weekends.

I want a second tour of the delta! I need to learn the waterways before I endanger my precious!

Hey JROD, show them all of the hot spots. If we see you in a "secret" spot we may have to blindfold them and spin them around 30 times and let them try to get out on their own.

Good idea Buff. Attila contributes yet another boat to the Delta, so we'll have to leave him behind or blind fold him!

J/k Atilla. Friday will probably be the day.

I would say go to New Melones or Lake Don Pedro. They are both pretty big lakes. I am normally at one lake or the other on the weekends and it has never been that crowded. I was at New Melones for Memorial day and it wasn't crowded at all. Saturday was a little breezy but Sunday and Monday were sweet. The Delta is one of the best places in Cali to wakeboard but it is also the most DIRTY water. I have heard way too many stories of people wakeboarding past dead floating cows and not to mention bodies. Sorry but I will not be caught with my boat in the Delta.

Yeah...Pedro and Melones are never crowded on the weekends...right.

I have been riding the Delta for years. Never seen anything more than a dead fish.

The only dead cow I've ever seen was at Tullock Lake.

Hey J Rod, need a driver on thursday? Let me know if you decide to go, I'm free all day. Friday I got my doctors appointment, hopefully I get the OK to start walking, and more importantly driving.

On a side note, my boat is back together. All I need is to do my yearly service. Maybe when I get back from Parker I'll give you guys a ride, instead of bumming

I think maybe this is a tactic to scare people away from riding on the Delta
(dead cows & dead bodies= crowd control)

Leroy. I thought the same, but I really think Richie was being sincere.

I read a couple of other posts that gave me that impression. Where and when is the big move?

Looking forward to riding. Let me know when you're ready!

Beryessa is the closest lake, and if you can get out early in the mornings on weekends or on week days you can find good water. Holla at me if you want to come ride with us up there.
