MC X2 Depth Finder Question

The depth finder works fine when towing or cruising under 22/23 mph, but when we crank it up more it constantly reads in the 900s, and i am almost positive the lake we ride is not quite that deep. I was just wondering if anyone else has had this issue.

when you get up to speeds i know some depth finders dont work.

depth finders send out a signal which bounces back from the bottom and relays info to the boat. when up to speed the only thing i can think of is your missing it. on our old boat when we would hit about 38 the depth would just blink two solid lines. and our new boat does the same thing when we hit about 40

Yea I thought that is probably what was going on, I just thought it was odd that it was reading super deep.

the higher speeds create turbulence under the boat in the form of air bubbles. This confuses the depth finder. The location of the depth finder on you hull will determine how much turbulence the transducer sees.

Shouldn't happen. I know plenty of depth finders that work at speed. Take it into Mastercraft.
