Yo folks, I'm pretty consistent on my TS 5, HS 3's and grabbed 3's. My problem is I can't get around fast enough to do a regular HS wake to wake 540. I've landed one and can't figure it out. I've been trying to cheat with the handle in really close to my body and that helped. My friend keeps saying "quick hands", are my hands just slow? Any secret tips are appreciated.

Jump first, then pull the handle hard to start your spin. You have to pull harder than on a hs 3 so you can get the extra 180. I'm sure your hands are quick enough. Passing the handle will be easy if you pull hard to start the spin.

I started doing 3's really big and it helped my rotation a ton for 5's. I focused on inverts for awhile and heve totally lost my spins though. I think practce is the key. Get used to spinning after you are in the air and you should get it. Good luck!

I can post some great videos of Chase's 540 "attempts"... that will make you feel better about not landing them!

For the heelside 5, really concentrate on drifting in towards the wake. This cut will send you more up then out so you can take it wake to wake. Make sure you do not start your spin until you have left the wake completely. If you try to spin too early you will most likely spin with your board way in front of you. Go off the wake, pull the handle hard and as you come for the last 180, think about pushing your chest out and looking up as you pass the handle the final time. Hope this helps.
