Just starting out on getting up on a surf board. How do you start? With a rope? How long of a rope? Off the swim platform? Any help would be great! I have a Hyperlite 5'6" Landlock and a Malibu Vride with mid and rear ballast and 2 fat sacks, and the wedge. Thanks

No rope. You have to paddle in to the wake.

Yes you use a rope, it's easier if you attach it to the tower over the pylon. I recommend using a surf rope and not trying to re-use a wakeboard rope/handle. Straight Line, Helium, Inland Surfer rope/handle combos I recommend.

Be smart, be safe.
