There are so many choices I am having trouble narrowing it down. I wish I could try out each amp and see which works best but that's not possible. If anyone has experience with a similar set up please let me know what worked or didn't work for you. Currently I am using a precision power ppi4800 that I got off craigs list but there there is something wrong with it and the front left channel sounds terrible. plus its 10yrs old so I don't know how well it will hold up to the Texas heat.

I am looking for 1 or 2 amps to power 3 pair of JL xr650s and one pair of Wet Sounds pro60's

I would like to have at least 150 rms going to the wetsounds and 50 to the jl's

so far I was considering the JL XD 600/6, slash 450/4 G6600 which I have found for close to $300 + shipping.

I also found a used Alpine F1 status MRV-F900 for $700

Then there is always the Wet Sounds Syn6 but that's a little more than I wanted to spend.

Thanks

for the boat:
1 - Syn 4
1- ARC KS 300.4
1 - Alpine 4150
here's a wildcard... 1 - Infinity Kappa 4 (I have the Kappa 5 in my car and it really surprised me, very musical, tons of high frequency output)

for the tower
1 - Syn 2
1 - Alpine 2150

for both? I'm no fan of the 6 channel amps but, check with wetsounds, if they recommend a Syn-6 then go for it.

I am sure there are some options for JL amps. My buddy has 2 - 300/2v2's for sale PM me if you are interested. Probably less than $200 each.

Wet Sounds Syn4 and Syn 2 or Syn6 to power all.

Or

Kicker ZXM450.2 for the Pro60's and ZXm350.4 for the 6 in-boats.

Well now I have even more choices haha. I would love to get the wet sounds amps but they are pretty expensive. The kicker and JL's are more in my price range. Does anyone have any first hand experience with these amps?

EL,

The SYN-6 is going to be the only 6 ch amp that is going to be enough power on the in boats and towers in a single amp solution. Since it is a hybrid and has two different power sections with 60x4 and 155x2. With chs 5-6 being high pass or low pass capable. What is also really cool is the flexibility of this amp. You can add a 2 ch later for the towers and bridge chs 5-6 in low pass on a sub for 600x1. Or you can add a 485 and create a 3-Some on the tower and turn the SYN-6 into a 3 ch amp for 200x2 and 600x1. So it gives you a lot of flexibility to expand

Most other 6 ch amps are going to be even power across the board like 60x6 or 75x6 etc....So you would be good on the in boat side but not enough on the tower. And other 5 ch amps are designed for coax and sub duty with the 5th ch being low pass only.

So you can compare cost of the single amp solution to other multi amp solutions and it might be a good value for you. The most power Wet Sounds option would be the SYN-4 and SYN-2 combo

Shoot me an email to twhite@wetsounds.com and I can see if there is a dealer near you so maybe you can go look and listen to some options and see what works best for you.
