Hey all,

Have an 06 X2 and took the boat out today for the first run after winter. Well everything was great. Tried out the new prop and it was great. Fired up the ballast pumps... well they ran but werent suckin up nothing!!

My question.... what is up and what do I need to get and do to fix it!? Impellers need to be changed I take it.

Enlighten me I am new to this ballast stuff.

Thanks.

Is there a ball valve on the ballast intake thru hull that is closed?

Paul, Thanks for the response will check that out tonight. Dealer probably closed them off when they put anti freeze in. I will check it out tonight. One or two in the back engine bay and the KGB one in the centre of the hull??

If anyone knows pipe up! thanks

Brent,
I'm not sure how MC is doing the setups now, but back in '02 they used 1 intake thru hull. The shutoff was immediately after it. Then that 1 line went into a manifold system that fed the individual tanks/bags. So basically, back in '02 there was only 1 shutoff valve.

There's been some discussion on this over the years. Here's a couple of links to that.

yeah there is one main ball valve in the rear engine compartment that is used for all the ballast tanks. just open that up and the pumps should prime themselves. also you may want to look into replacing the impellers with new ones that come in the 07 boats. they have built in lubrication so they will last longer and work better.
