Just wanted to share, my buddy Alex got his 2010 LF Trip yesterday and was loving it, so he decided to take his first shot at a nose grab 1080. I imagine I'll be posting a video of him stomping that shi* soon, but for now Facebookers can check out just how close he was:

Wow! It actually looked like he just wasn't confident about getting around and never reached for the handle on his last rotation. It really looks like if he committed to that landing he would've stuck it clean.

Nice work! He will definitely land this very soon if he can throw it consistently like that.

Is this considered "more legit" because of the suggested nose grab? I don't get how we call a swipe of the hand across the board a grab. I guess that is all you can do when you have three handle passes, but I don't see that as any more impressive than not slapping the board.

Not hating...just curious. I like Alex's on-axis spinning!

Its definitely just a swipe, but like you said... with three passes its about all you can do. I was totally joking around with that comment on FB about 1080s only counting if they are grabbed LOL

Yeah man... Alex is fun to watch spin for sure. It was crazy that day cuz he was stoked on the new board and was ripping hard. He had ridden an whole set before he tried the 1080 which included:

Crowmobe
KGB
Dum Dum
Heel BS 5
Heel 7
Toe 7
SW Toe 7
Toe 9

You should have seen how slow and easy his heel 7s looked after he tried the 10, it was almost boring because he made it look like nothing. Dude's got spin skills for sure.

I rode with Alex when he stopped in Nashville on a Liquid Force demo day. Dude was crankin out 7s with ease. Fun to watch for sure.
