As soon as you are done with school, get a job buy a boat for 10 Grand and up grade when possible.

Got a job at the beginning of my Junior year of Highschool (I was 17), saved up enough money to buy my boat, a 1982 Ski Nautique in less than a year, and purchased it a little before I turned 18. I only paid 5k for the boat, but it's good enough for me. Since then I've put a tower on it, redone the carpet, currently replacing the interior, and am installing some wetsounds in it next week. It's beginning to look like a nice wakeboard boat. So start small, get what you can afford. You don't want to be dishing out big bucks for college and owe on a boat also.

i'll buy my own boat as soon as my parents say no more demo boat for u. why not use up the offer of using one right now. i figure i've got another couple of years so i've already started saving.

Brandon, sounds like my story. I got out of high school, worked my a$$ off, bought a 1991 Ski Nautique for $11,000 and added an extended pylon. Since then I've added a tower and tower speakers. I'm working on getting the boat color sanded and buffed out to make it look new again and then replacing the interior.

heres a pic of my boat. The one I bought when I was 17. I'm only 18 now, and i've done a lot of work on it. Don't have any pics of it with the tower yet, since that was a winter project and haven't had it out since then.

The good thing about an old boat like this, is if you get a good deal to begin with, when you get ready to sale it, you will lose hardly if any money at all.

Did the house, wife, kids right out of college. Hitched a ride with friends and family for a few years. Went through some cars, and just bought my first boat at 33: New leftover 06' Centurion Avalanche loaded. Paid for it in cash. It was hard budgeting for awhile, but worth it to have the Title in hand. I wanted something I wouldn't want to upgrade in 2 years.
Good advice above that it's about getting on the water, so an old Nauti for under 10G's is great to start with.

I worked hard through school, high school, post secondary, found a great career...

Work my ass off... Bought a 06 X-1 demo boat in fall 06, just traded for a 08 40th Anniversary X-star..

All mine, no parents.. They provide the cottage... that's more than plenty.

rode in my first inboard boat at 18 years old, it was a early 90's Sport Nautique and i was hooked on it. Vowed to get one some day. It took 9 years but I bought a 92 Sport Nautique that was identical to the one i first rode in. This summer I'll be on my 5th inboard.

My first boat was a 1989 sea ray with an outboard engine that I got 4 years ago , then what I thought was an upgrade from that was a 1995 Chris Craft I had loads of fun on the boat and actually still miss it from time to time. Now I have a 2004 Supra Launch 22SSV Gravity Games Edition. Love the old boats but they do not even come close to what the supra can do as far as looks performance and wake love the new boat !!!!!!!!!Upload

I bought my first boat when I was 13 yo, a 1967 Glastron rated for 50 HP. I modified the transom and put a 100 HP outboard. I had the boat through high school and college. Sold it 11 years later for the same I paid for it. I tried building my own inboard with an aluminum block V8 is a 17' hull, didn't work so well but learned a lot. I bought a 16' Bayliner Cobra rated for 120 HP and put a 140 HP outboard on it. Had that for a couple of years, bought a 1990 MC ProStar 190, modified that with a wedge once I started wakeboarding. Bought a 2000 Malibu VLX, then a 2002 SAN and now have a 2004 SAN with no intention of any more changes.

This is our first boat. I grew up on the water and my parents always had a boat. We have been using my inlaws '99 MB up until now. We just purchased it before christmas and this is the only picture I have. This is going to be a great summer!

A year out of high school myself and 3 other friends bought a 2000 Moomba MobiusV. Everyone came up with a grand for their part of the down payment and split the loan payments. I remember being one of the only boats in our area with a V drive and a tower. It only cost us 100 bucks a month. Sold it and now we have an 03 SANTE same four partners.
