aluminum boat about 12 feet what size motor to deep water start a 180 pound guy

My sons and their friends ride behind our 12' alum. Valco with an 8hp Nissan!
Deep water starts are a bit of a struggle, but they do 'em all the time. My sons are more in the 150 pound range, 180 might be a bit much for an 8 horse...
Just gotta know how to work the board until the boat planes out.

25HP is the only way to go or more.12 foot aluminum boat with the skylon pod and a 25 hp motor.
