I'm thinking about building a rail for the first time. It has to float so i can move it or the DNR will be mad and ideas or directions on how to make it.

Will that rail be stable when you hit it? And is it legal to set it up at most lakes?

Floating rails are crazy hard to deal with. First off you will set it somewhere then it will float probably 15ft by the time you actually hit it. Then theres the issue of it bobbing up and down or even going under when you hit it. Trust me Ive got plenty of experience with rails and our lakes dont allow em either. So what we did was to figure out how deep the lake was where we were going to set the rail. Then we went and got plywood that was the depth + a foot so it would be just above the surface. Then we'd hammer it into the bottom and when were done just pull it up. If you want a drawng which is easier to see email me at hippiy17@aol.com
