I've gotta agree with tribal on this one. However, my local shop rips, so I'm lucky.

hypo,

All shop have a retail price then a MAP price..Map is the right price..Retail is about $120 above map..Have you seen the new o'brian for next year? Hands down they are #1 with me. Graphics are the sickest i've seen and the boards are awsome! But if a shop does not carry at least 100-125 boards..They are not a true wakeboard shop..And toolfan yes 4hrs is close I drove 300 miles in one day to look at 3 shops...Support your local shops..

Thats awesome shopguy, but I drove to my computer and looked at 50. Then I called the ones that were in driving distance (3-4 hrs), found out they only had old Hyperlite stuff so decided to order online. I also saved alot more, and get this, I actually got what I wanted and it wasnt HL. And the money I saved on gas avoiding the 6-8 hr drive (there and back) went to buying gas for the boat....Support your local shops......if you have any good ones.

I am lucky, my local shop is not only 45 min away, but my roommate works through them selling gator so I can get a decent price on my boards.

toolfan, how are you liking your GB setup? Have you taken the fins off yet?
I finally got my 05' 142 RG in, rode it for a few weeks, liked it, took the fins off... LOVE IT. Hands down the most fun board I have ever ridden. I will stand on a rail when you want it to, and easily break loose when your ready for some surface tricks. BadA$$ board!
Old     (toolfan)      Join Date: Jul 2003       10-12-2004, 9:08 AM Reply
the board absolutley rips. With the fins off the balance of grippyness and looseness is perfect. It breaks off the water really easily and will ride on edge effortlessly. i couldnt be happier. the 05 seems alittle faster than the 04, but that may just be me. its such an easy board to ride, but that you can never out grow.

I have seen the new line online but I haven't had the chance to check them out yet. I have the '03 harris am getting a good deal on a baller. However, I can't wait to number one ride the '05 gonzales cause all I have heard is about how sick that board rides. Next board I buy is no doubt the '05 harris. The graphics on it are killer and I can only imagine how it rides. My roommate got me started riding gator and I have not been dissapointed. Gator all the way!!

my wife has the o4 RG and i love it..
but sometimes the landings are hard on my knees
i was thinking about buying the 142RG
how does it feel compared to the 138 RG
ive rode premeires, absolutes, and a balance and buy far i love the feel of the GATOR RG
any info would help

The subtle tweaks that they have made to the Gonzales this year are definatley for the better. It may be psychological, but I think the 05 is alot smoother (on landings and on edge) than the 04.

Hypo,
Definatley go for the 142 if the landings seem alittle harsh. The extra surface area will make alot of difference on impact. And get out of those LF Flex bindings, get you some Ultras or Zues. That will take alot of the sting out.

Hypo,
Toolfan is right, go for the 142! I've had mine for a couple of months now, and I love it. I rode the 138 last year and through this season until I picked up the 05 142. The landings are smooth, the pop is great, and it's just as fast as the 138. I've actually been riding finless the past couple of weeks and it's the most fun I've had on any board.
What bindings are you riding?

Pauly, You need to get a pic of you going big on your GB. Your on my Premier in your profile. Hahaha...mullet madness...Raintree chop, my lake builds up your stamina. We need to get us one of those 142's. To bad there's no place to demo one.

DO Double, he wears LF Flex. I'm thinking it might be a contributor to the knee problem. I hurt my back on time and it freaking killed me getting out of those damn suction bindings.
Old     (hypo303)      Join Date: Jun 2004       10-20-2004, 1:35 PM Reply
well the bindings don't seem to be a problem,
my feet never hurt when i ride ,and I don't have any problems with the landings on any other board
maybe it's just my old age....Hopefully i'll still have a boat next year ,if so i'm gonna buy the 142 rg...thanks for the info

also Scott you never have film me when im on the rg board

I use to have a joint aches while riding. someone recommended that I try to spend a little more on bindings and it may alleviate some of the pain. So I bought a pair of 02 parks as my first pair of "high-end" bindings and since then my joint aches have drastically diminished.

I think upgrading your bindings, coupled with getting a bigger board, will help you out alot.
