My new trick

I just learned how to do a surface blind 180. I think that's what it's called.
Cut out wide and do a back slide then pass the handle and keep going around.
Personally I think it is a better trick than a backroll or tantrum. Tantrums and Backrolls usually don't hurt too bad when learning, a blind 180 will rattle your brain if you catch your back edge.
Now I need to land a ralley.

kind of funny, I was trying the same thing on friday, without the handle pass (putting my arm behind my back)

I was working on the same thing as you Tim, but ollying instead of sliding. There actually pretty easy once you get over the fear of doing what Matt mentions (burying heelside edge; ouch!).

on that trick when you feel yourself catching your edge you can break at the waist and fall on your rear instead of getting smacked.

Usually when you feel yourself catching your heel edge.....it's already over.

I just started doing that on a wakeskate.

It is easier on a wakeskate than a wakeboard.

Funny, I just learned that same trick a week ago(Backside surface 180 w/handle pass). Matt, your comment about the falls on that trick are worse than learning a backroll or tantrum, has given me hope that I can learn those two tricks by the end of the summer.
