Is that legit or is he just off to the side of the ladder? It sure looks like he is just off to the side, kind of an optical illusion. No disrespect here just wondering.

looking at it closer it does look likes hes ollieing to the side of it, also his board is sitting an inch or two lower than the tip of the ladder so he would of hit it.

Still that ollie is massive

how great of a video would that have been if he did tip the ladder and the ladder launched that guy holding it. Just as long as no one got seriously hurt. Im laughing right now just thinking of it.

When I first saw it I couldn't get over how high his ollie must be to get up on the dock like this.
Unreal.

Vernnn - go git that laddar over yonder and when I get up to speed hold it reeaall steady while I try to jump it. Don't you worry none, I can make it!

I couldn't resist - the first thing I thought about after D#MN that was huge, was about the dude underneath it all.

i think Andy is right, he is definitely to the side.
vlxray, that ollie is high but pretty easy to make, now if he was backlipping it, that would be INSANE, which i have seen him backlip some docks with gigantic ollies

Agreed Kyle. I also think Lidberg gets NASTY on a rail in transgression with a back lip, straight rediculous! His first few were "step up ollies" but then he gets on top of it pretty good.

Lidberg's ollie power is out of control...with the dock ollie that watson is doing, you just have to get the front of your board high enough. I've ollied onto some pretty high rails that i seemed too high to make but i just made sure to get my nose high enough to make them. I find though that if you can backlip onto a slider as high as the flat bar at o-dub, you got some serious skills and balls (no i have not tried....i'm yella)

I see what your saying Kyle. I feel like I have a decent ollie but there is no way I'm going to make that dock. Having said that there are no rails where I ride so I don't have skills when it comes to hitting obstacles. I do want to hit a cable park in the near future. I think I'd really like hitting that stuff.

kyle i'd have to agree with you on lidbergs ollie skills, that rail at the beggining of his segment was up to his neck (5 ft give or take) and he seemed like he had no problem getting up on it

And then he crushed one end of it. That was awesome.

"whoa.. that photo looks photoshopped. like i was trying to ollie the ladder....."

this is what he was actually ollieing. Still really high.Upload
Old     (garrett_cortese)      Join Date: Mar 2003       04-23-2008, 3:33 PM Reply
He wasn't trying to ollie over the ladder. The ladder was being used to climb up and add to what the guys were ollieing over. The angle and compression of the photo makes it look like that is what he is going for, but he's not.

I'd tell you more, but then I'd have to e-kill you all. Just keep your eyes peeled for an upcoming issue of Alliance with the story and all the pics.

Reviving something of a dead topic...

Kyle,

I was just watching the Watson/Bonifay part of the truth, and there was a dock that was maybe 8 or 9 inches shorter than the one in that picture above, where you said that you just had to get one part of the board up onto it, and then you could pull yourself up. He did that once or twice on the dock in the video, but then he ollies clear onto the thing. It was nuts.
Old     (lfxstar)      Join Date: Jul 2001       05-01-2008, 7:22 PM Reply
Damn Nick, Watson or Bonifay? I would assume Watson, SB doesnt have quite the ollie pop as him...although he does have some spring in his knees too
Old     (wakeboardern1)      Join Date: Aug 2007       05-01-2008, 7:31 PM Reply
Watson. He was slamming his way up onto the dock. Over half the board would be above the dock before he touched it, and the back end of the board was probably two inches down when he'd hit since he was doing 180s onto it. before he'd rotate though, he was well above it on the second ollie. It's right at the end of the section. I never paid much attention to it until I watched the end of the video earlier, and was just like "Wow! That reminds me of the dock on WakeWorld!"
