My friend got one and i rode it a few days ago. I gotta say, what a good board. The pop is one of the best and the landings are definitely the softest. It tracks well but can still break free and the bindings are really good. The only thing i didnt like is that the bindings are a pian to put on and take off.

Did he have the Recoil or the Response?

I have the recoil 142 and I love it, it is an amazingly fun and poppy board. I want to try and ride it finless because that would be so fun. I can't wait to ride tommorow morning!

I ride Ryan Morris' Recoil 142, and I love the hell out of that board. I pretty much never got good pop on my half cabs and since I started riding it I've been boosting them way out into the flats. The difference in pop is significant, we've had several riders improve after one set on the board. Everyone who rides one has either bought one or is about to buy the set-up. The bindings took awhile at first but just like any others after a few times they're just as easy to get into as any other bindings. I was pretty burned out on wakeboarding but the Slingshot has added some new excitement for me, so much so that I'm getting up at 7am to go ride tomorrow, and I hate mornings. If you get a chance, try one out.

I'm going to spring for a Recoil but I'm not sure what size would be best. I currently ride a 138 TFD but thought about trying the 142 Recoil. I weigh 160 pounds. I also heard that the boots run really small.

Can any of you guys who have ridden it give some input about board and boot sizing? I don't have a dealer near by so I have to mail order.

I would go for the 138 recoil. I way 155 and ride a 139 axis and the 138 recoil felt perfect. 142 would be big for u in my opinion. And ya the boots run small, Im a size 10 and the bindings were an 11 and fit me perfect.

Manny, thanks for the info. I'm going for the Recoil 138.

I rode the response and the recoil. It might have been that I was riding a 145 Response on the first day, and when I rode the Recoil I was tired, but they seemed a bit slow to me. HOWEVER, fun surface tricks, great pop and really soft landings on both, though I actually had a much better time with the Response (continuous rocker vs. Recoil's 3-stage).

Either way I recommend every rider find a way to demo them.

I was patiently to give me real opinion on this board, I was stoked!

Any of you who know me know I have ridden the same shape (absolute) for years now, and the slingshot is the only board that has gotten me excited for something new.

The flex is so fun, presses and butters are so easy, and hard landings are now so soft. The pop is insane as well, I think this may be the future of wakeboarding as we know it.

It's pretty funny how many people instantly dump on Slingshot because it is so diferent. While I admit it sucks to have to use their boots on the board, once you get to actually ride the thing, you understand what its about. Slingshot is on to something big.

^ I really see a lot of praise in this thread, not dumping.....people seem stoked (like me)!

Heavy, I know you are a big cdub fan too.....are you going to ride a slingshot?

Mike, I was not referring to this thread, its remained poitive!

A friend is sponsored and there are two other friends that have em. I'm not going to be switching anytime soon, CWB has simply been too good to me over the years. I will however be riding my friends to mix it up every now & again. Its too fun to not incorporate into the routine.

For anyone that wants to try a slingshot set-up we just got demo boards in at the Delta Wakeboard Camp.

We have both boards and a size run of the bindings.

Contact us at www.deltawakeboardcamp.com and we can get you set up to try one.

"Big Heavy" just can't handle the real pop he gets from the Slingshot...

P.S. Hope you enjoyed work today Steve as me, Morty and Ranch were churning up some butter.

Is slingshot going to do one of those mailing demo things? Cause I wold love to try it out but there is no shop that carries them in my area (north east). Something like trinity boardshop, where it goes on your credit card, you demo, then send it back and they take off the balance?

I dont know, email them......that kind of thing is hard to pull off and keep track of.

Better yet, tell your local shop to carry slingshot!
