I am in the market for some new CT bindings. I want good support and Light. Just from looking at some old threads the ronix ones fall apart and the shanes are heavy is that true? Need your help which one should I buy?

my 06 shanes are are real nice. very comfy. i do not find them to be overly heavy or hold water. shanes have excellent support but also allow for pokes/style. i did like the lace up system on the ones. seemed to tighten better around the whole foot. i only demoed the ones for a couple days. hope this helps

I love my 07 shanes. Very easy to get on and off, but my foot has never come out.

Ones all the way, lf is freakin heavy,... imho.

I own both pairs, and I must say that the Shane's have much more support but are heavier than the One's.

***Also note that I shattered my ankle, tore 3 ligaments in my ankle, had some cartilage damage, & also tore the ligament that connects the tibia & fibula together.....all with the Ronix One's. lol.

But it's personal preference, I would go with LF bc they would hold up a lot longer. IMHO

just got my shanes and love them. most comfortable binding i've ever ridden. a little bulky, but i'm sure over time they'll break in and ill get used to them. i'd go with the shanes over the ronix ones.

i have the 06 shanes they have been great to me so far. i have not had a chance to ride the ones, but honestly i would love to.
The shanes are dope, they are stiff(i've never been released either) and for have held up well. i actually bought a 07 set of cwb zues a month ago they have broken 3 times already. i went back to the closed toe its the best.

I have the ones and love them. Never tried the shanes.

I tried on the shanes and one's in a pro shop real quick one day. I didn't really like the aggressive arch the shanes have. The ones are a little bit for comfortable and support your foot more equally than the shanes.

'07 Ronix boots had an issue with ripping. The '08s should not have that problem. These boots ripping can be expected guys. If you expect your foot not to come out, what is the only other alternative?

Can you heat mold the Shanes?
Old     (utwake1)      Join Date: Jul 2007       09-27-2007, 9:46 AM Reply
No. But Ronix had A LOT of problems with the molding ripping after getting the One's heat molded. If you get the One's, I strongly recommend that you don't get them heat molded.

When I got mine molded, they broke not long after, but the new pair i got didn't break, my ankle just broke. lol

Again personal preference on the heat molding.

i couldnt feel much different after getting them heat molded. they did however smell kinda funky... hahaha.

touche! i forgot about the awful stench that comes after wearing the One's for about 2 weeks, even after you dry them out after every time you ride. hahaha

nice post billy ^^^

Shane's all the way! I have the 07's, ridden just about everyday on them since march and no signs of tearing up. When i first got them they did have a little arch that my flat foot didn't like, but literally after a few sets they seem to conform. So easy to get into and VERY comfortable! When you pull just a little bit on the laces, the boot wraps around your foot nicely. Great support and really flexible at the same time. I've ridden the one's alot (especially before i got the shane's), i liked them, but didn't feel as comfortable to me (no they weren't molded).

But it doesn't matter what everybody tells you. you can take all of our opinions however you want but the fact of the matter is that everyone's foot is different, so the boots are going to feel and react differenly for everybody. your best bet is to demo. or at least drive to a shop that has them. you can put both of em on dry and see how it feels to you. you'll be happy with either, my preference is the shane.

Why dont you go demo some bindings and see what you like, just because a rider on here likes a binding, dosent mean you will feel the same way about them.
Its all personal preference.

I have the 07 Ones and they are super comfortable, but I ripped the inner liners out of both boots. They are superglued to the binding all along the heal. I guess Ronix got word of this happening a lot and fixed the 08's. I got them warranteed by the shop I got them from and I have the 08's now. I'm gonna ride them tomorrow so hopefully they hold up better.

Witch of the two give more side to side movement?
Old     (bbower)      Join Date: Mar 2007       09-29-2007, 7:28 PM Reply
i would have to say the shane's. they are a little bit lower cut that the ones, but they are also more flexible. side to side movement is one of the features shane really wants implemented in his line b/c that's how he likes them.
