I bought one last August. I went out riding Tuesday evening. I did a couple wake to wake jumps, landed a couple of tantrums and loaded up for a backroll. I came down on the tail and SNAP right into two pieces. I sent some pictures into CWB hopefully they will warranty it.

Just broke my 09, came down on the tail on a backroll and it creased on the tail. called CWB, and they said they will warranty it. Seems to be common though.

Is CWB's board warranty only 2 year? My buddy is currently talking to one of the warranty folks and they are trying to verify that is '08 board is still covered. I've been treated fairly by them so I was disappointed to hear all the trouble my friend is going through to get his snapped Platinum Absolute replaced.

life time, considering the board has been well taken care of. and never on sliders.

Yup, they'll take care of it. The Platty's are notoriously not as strong as their foam counterparts. I guess that's the price you pay for how light/snappy they are.

The new alternative core for next year should be a lot stronger, although only one board will get it.

This'll be the last year of the platty line as we know it. A sad day for sure. I love the way they pop.

which bears the question. To switch to foam or make the transition to the --9 ?

I haven't heard anything back from the warranty department. Are usually pretty quick on something like this?

I finally got in contact with Matt in warranty. He seems like a great guy and said that the new boarde should be sent out in the next couple of days. CWB is a great company.

"I came down on the tail "

That will break any board.
