How do you guys prevent the tower mirror arm from scratching the tower leg? I havent put it on yet but the tower is SS and the mirror arm is Polished alum. I figured that with all the waves its bound to move a little and I dont think I'll be keeping it in the same exact place everytime I go out.

Thanks!

I use a small piece of thin adhesive tape wrapped around (without overlapping the ends of the tape) the tower leg just where I mount the mirror arm. That should prevent scratching at a certain degree.

Thank you! I actually went to Home Depot and got some thin felt and cut it to size to go on the inside of the mirror arm clamp.

Wouldn't adding anything between the two act as a bearing and increase the chance of it moving?

I would imagine so if not secured tight enough. I was out on Saturday and it held up without moving at all. We'll see how it handles in really choppy water this weekend.
