I have a Polk Momo 12" subwoofer that I am looking for an amp for. It is a single voice coil sub that can handle between 200 and 400 watts RMS @ 4 ohms. I am looking for a good amp that won't break the bank. I would like something that is pretty efficient so it doesn't draw a ton of power from my battery. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Preferably under $150. I don't mind buying referbs or amps off of ebay to keep the cost down.

Try this model. IMO, best bang for your buck out there.

The stuff in my boat has to be budget since it's "venerable". I am quite happy with the performance of my Hifonics stuff.

Yeah, I actually looked on that site and I saw a Orion 3002. Would that be a good amp for this application?

that amp would do alright. its' 300 watts. but if your sub says it'll take up to 400 I'd give it 400. maybe something like this. http://www.ikesound.com/product-product_id/3358 If a sub is rated to take 400 watts go ahead and give it 400 cuz it'll actually take a lot more. Just don't get crazy with the bass boost and gain settings. Distortion will kill a sub way faster than too much power any day.
