Hi Im new on this site ive tried to do abit of research but haven't really found anything,
i recently bought a 04 vlx with my dad and just wondering if anyone could help me with how to load it,
i want to pull out the rear hard tanks and replace them with sacs, just unsure what size to replace them with an what prop to run

thanks Justin

With no hard tanks I'd say sumo 750s for would work really well. You'll need a sac in the bow too.

Most people who use a lot of weight run either the acme 1235 or the acme 2315.

Happy shredding

Haha. Dont say "load it" cause that makes me think you are trying to get it on the trailer. Hop over to themalibucrew.com and ask the question. Those guys know how to setup the ballast on every Malibu boat. They are a very helpful group.

Yep, hit mal crew. You'll need 1100's in the back for surfing, a 600 center sac and a 750 for the bow. The acme 1235 is a good prop but you'll lose top end, like 33mph at 4700 rpm, maybe better at lower elevations. I have the same hull

I have an 04' LSV and did the swap just a few weeks ago (hard tanks to bags)

Easiest way - buy two of these (one for each side) - http://www.wakemakers.com/tankbuster...m-upgrade.html
.... after you remove the hard tanks this kit lets you use all the existing plumbing and pumps. You could "make" the kit cheaper yourself, but this setup makes it crazy easy. The whole process is like 60 mins for both sides to rip out the old and put in the new.

For bags, I went with 1100# Pro-X bags, they don't fill 100% though.... and for surfing, this is the way to go. For the VLX I would say either the 900# sumo bags or the 750s would work well if your main goal is wakeboarding.
