Any ideas on what to use to protect the back of a
tournament boat from getting marks and scratches.

a teak "build up" layer closer to the boat will keep the boat off the back. Or check into a clear tape like protector. I've seen them but not sure where they come from.

I have heard of people using the 3M protectant that they put on cars. I imagine it would work pretty well.

I have a pad made from Sunbrella material with some padding in between the layers. It attached to the transom eyes. It is a must have for surfing and kids putting on their wakeboards. I will try and find a picture.

I had Cory at Evolution Covers make me a transom and swimstep cover out of the sunbrella. The transom cover fits over the bar on the back of the boat and is velcro'd my cover fits over the right and left edge of the transom cover. Works great. Not sure on the price as it was a package deal. He does good work and is quick. Here is a picture. This is on a 2008 Centurion EnzoUpload

If you look at my profile pic you can see that I used Gator Grip, it's been awesome and held up very well.
