So your system is around 500 watts? I would think an additional group 24 or 27 deep cycle would be just fine if all you have is one amp and the deck. You could always go with a group 31 as well. Look at the Deka dual purpose or deep cycle batteries or something like the interstate SRM-29. These are all good batteries, especially for the price. no matter how big you go on the stereo bank if you don't understand the limits of your alternator you are going to get a shorter life. Probably for the alternator, starter and batteries. You can go really simple and just leave your starting battery as is and wire in a second battery in parrallel with a battery disconnect switch between the positive terminals of the battery. Then you would just flip the switch off when you are sitting jamming. Leave it off to start then once up and running flip it back on paralleling the batteries. Just know that if you really discharge your stereo battery you should probably switch it off when running every ten minutes or so, so you don't overwork the alternator. You could also throw a perko style switch. This is a good inexpensive way to do it although I am not sure you need one since you will have 2 different types of batteries. You could also get a smart isolator/separator/combinor like the sure power units and Cole Hersee make one as well. It will pretty much do everything you want automatically. They are fairly inexpensive and easy to install as well. The other thing to note is that if you use a home charger you should have the battery banks seperated so they charge independently.
