Hey I found a demo tige boat for 300 dollars. The only problem is it's just an empty hull with no motor or anything in it. It does have a tower on it. I'm not sure which hull it is but I believe the boat is around a 2001 to 2003 model. I need to know how much it would cost to fix this boat up and would it even be worth my time and money or would I just be better off buying a good used boat with all the goodies on it.

When you say "empty hull" what exactly do you mean....no drive-train, or literally a gutted hull? Pics?

man I don't have any pictures. I happen to run across this boat at a wrecker station.

Weird. Depends on how gutted it is & how good a boat mechanic you are.

It doesn't have anything on it, the holes for the gauges aren't even cut out. NO serial numbers or anything, but the guy said he could get them if I bought it. It just sounded cheap when he said he wanted 500 dollars for it and then I told if I were to buy it I would only 300. So he said he would take 300 for it,if I buy it.

I'm not much of a mechanic, I can change oil and plugs, but that's about it.

Seems like a ton of work to get it in riding shape.

How about making a salad bar out of it?

Well I dream of owning my own sports bar one day and I had that similar idea for a bar setup. It just reminded of my own interests.

Hey there ya go then. $300 for the most stylin bar in town is a steal!

Yeah it would look good. The only problem I'm having is that I'm focusing more on trying to get a inboard boat, instead of working on business plans. I can't help it though, because ever since I rode behind my buddy's mastercraft, that old chaparral hasn't felt the same.

Yea, I hear ya. Unfortunately I think your gonna have to dig up with a few more bucks to get into a descent boat.

It might be a good buy for the right person though..... if they have plans to build up a sports bar or have mechanic skills to assemble the boat.

yeah I've been looking at alot of used boats. My price range is about 25000. I've looked at moomba, malibu, tige, and mastercraft. I'm wanting to get around a 2002 to 2003 boat. Do you think I can find one that year model in my price range.

Jonathan,

You would probably be spending 15-25k on the "hull", depending on how many used parts you can find, just to make it into a usable boat and looking at 2 years before launching.

You should be able to find a great towboat boat in your price range and year range.

You should be able to find a good Vdrive for around $25,000. Look for a 2000-2003 Moomba Mobius V, 1995-current Nautique Super Sport(Same Hull as SAN) or 1999-present Super Air Nautique, or a 1999-present Mastercraft 205V hull(1999-2002 Xstar Hull).

Here is a nice looking Super Sport in Orlando. Throw a tower, ballast and perfect pass on it and you have a SAN.

Alan, I know Ski Hut in Nashville used to sell Tige's - you might check with Bill @ Tennessee Tige in Smyrna TN, he took over Tige in the Nashville area- Bill might have something that would work for you!

A buddy of mine just bought a '98 Nautique Super Sport for $14K and it's in unbelievable condition. Just rode in it last weekend and it's virtually like a new boat! It was a bank repo hence the low price. Add a tower & ballast and a few other goodies and he has a SAN as well.

Is it yellow? I think it's a 22v. You should take it and make a slider out of it.

Jonathan, I live in Murfreesboro and have a bunch of friends in the bar business. Lets saw that thing down the middle and make two bars out of it. I need a new addition to that bonus room I'm working on.

For $300 bucks I would turn it into a tow-along party barge. Put on a striper pole and some tunes and your golden.
