It seems that the normal place to mount the sub is at the drivers feet. Is there anyone with their sub mounted there and also has heater hoses running thru that box? My local shop says that with the hoses running thru it the sub wouldn't work well. Any thoughts?

You can re-route the heater. People also install them in the observer comparment or the rear lockers. I have on in each rear locker firing forward towards the driver and I am installing a third in either the observer comparment or driver footwell.

I decided to put a 12 in a ported box in the passenger area compartment. I wanted to minimize the amount of rattle to my dash area over time. That area also always more open space for the sub.

I have a 15" Kicker L5 under the the dash, I had the heater moved over a little. I had the heater vent mounted into the box. It had no affect on the sound at all, and the heater worked like normal.Upload the heater is actually mounted in the top left corner flush with the box.

15" under bow too -- just cut out where the foot stop was, and added some supports to the back

My stereo guys made a cut out in my box for the hose. A bit more work as far as the construction, but takes care of the hose issue.
