We've just been in Minnesota about two years and we're now looking for a couple great places to go camping this summer. someplace with really nice camp sites- tent camping- by the water would be great- and a boat launch/dock with great riding water. If you've ever been to Lake Entiat and Lincoln Rock park on the Columbia in Washington State- you know what I'm looking for. Something no more than 4 hours from Minneapolis would be great. Suggestions?

Might have some luck by the Brainerd Area?

I agree with MK. Also, look by Cross Lake on the White Fish Chain. It's just a few miles north of Brainard. That whole area has really nice lakes.

Lake Auburn is very close to you:

It's not too bad, but can get a little busy on weekends.

I've been up to the Brainerd area and White fish chain (years ago) but was wondering if anyone know about any specific campgrounds that are really good. Thanks!
