Hey guys, I have just been givin the opportunity to be in charge of hosting a wakeboard tournament here in San Antonio, Texas. I have worked at many comps before and played boat driver, dock guy, pick up guy, and even announcer as well as help set up and break down. I have never been the man behind the scene before though and am a little worried. I need to do everything from picking the venue to finding a catering service and sponsors that will be willing to help out. I work for a boat dealer that has been hosting these tournaments for years but we have never done one in SA just Austin. That said we have presentation packets to give to potential sponsors and event holders but I would just like some of you guys opinions as to what may help to draw a big crowd even if the crowd we draw is people who are new wakeboarding and boating or the core rider that loves to compete. I was thinking a rail jam or maybe having a team nautique rider come out and do an exibition or something. Any and all opinions will be apreciated. Thank you in advance. I just want to know what you guys think would make a kick ass tournament. But don't go over the top

One helpful suggestion to get more helpful suggestions would be to include your topic in the name of your thread. That way you will attract those that run tournaments.

That being said, check out these articles...
