Pearl Street Mall. I think there's bars and restaurants there and other things to do. I haven't been down there for years either. There used to be a good strip club I think it's still open.

Same weekend as pro tour stop so the Florida schools will be in a hurt. I think you should have a minimum taking 9 credit hours to be eligible. I have seen pros take 1 class at a community college in PlayDough and ride in these. That isn't right.

Looks like fun and hope it has a good turn out. Maybe not having the pros there will make it more enticing for others. Good luck.

For the Southern Qualifiers, we required every rider to be a full time student (12 hours or more).

Leo,
Is there going to be a Spring Qualifier for the South?

How do you guys feel about Grad students? Full time is considered 9 hours for Grad school.

The University of Texas will be there too! How about a road-trip with our A&M brethren?

I don't think Rollins will be attending (we were hoping for an alternate spot) because of the fact it's the same weekend as pro tour. looks like it'll be another good showing for UF.... 'cause I'd assume a lot of UCF's team would be out too..... sooooo bummed they're the same weekend. I was really looking forward to seeing what the CSTV event has become since I was there at it's first year (and gone last year due to study abroad).

I would have to actually ride to need them.
I do a lot of work with him on other stuff though. I tried them on. pretty darn comfy. I'll probably try them out in another month or so, when I get back on the water.

Killer selection of boards and other gear.
We should be on site and have lots of local info on water temp and riding conditions. Depends on which part of lake they hold event on. Bring wetsuit and possible dry suit if this weather persist. Please feel free to call if we can help out. Stay hydrated to peak at altitude. We are stoked. Barret I hope you come. Miss all my Florida friends.

John, I think full time graduate works too. As long as you aren't taking 1 hour of some bs class.
Old     (bhileman)      Join Date: Apr 2005       02-06-2008, 4:17 PM Reply
I think they should make the full time student rule apply to all regions, because Im pretty sure that at the western collegiate regionals all you needed was one credit through an online course to compete. I think that is bs personally, there is nothing collegiate about that.

hey leo, do you know if Texas State has a team? i cant find any information on one. It would be a shame if we dont considering there are several pros that go here

Kevin, they do have a team. They rode at Nationals but were DQ'd because one of there riders couldnt prove registration.

Brett, I agree and I can't believe they allowed it. The collegiate wakeboard association is very unorganized and the rules are subject to each individual region. I wish I had a bigger say in it. I think each rider should be full time. 1 hour of online course basically means 'I live at home and my parents pay for all of my crap and I have no intention of every recieving a college degree'. It is really unfair to the 100s of guys who are taking 12+ hours, busting their rear to get a degree, and wakeboarding on the side to have to compete with some kid who wakeboards everyday.

too bad this is during the Spanky Beaver's wakeboard jib jam...lots of Sac State beaver fans are probably gonna miss out on the new jibs.
