Kevin,
We have the same boat and I asked my dad about the price and he said if he was to sell ours this year he would start at about 27,500 and we have 304 hrs on ours so I would say you are offering a great deal but whenit is cold only the diehards like myself even think about a boat most people have switched mindsets to the winter sports.

The price for your boat now is a lot less than right after a local boat show. In your price range there is a $2-3k swing based on season. Remember- supply & demand. If you can wait, do so.

I have a 2003 Calabria Cal-Air with 15 hours on it, and a Ryan trailer lots of options. I'm asking $30,000.00 OBO. So if you whant it to sell faster lower your price. Also just before and after the boat shows people get sticker shock and buy used boats so hang in there, It will sell. Just give it time.

Whirlybird - why are you selling your boat with only 15 hours on it?
Old     (tahoe)      Join Date: Mar 2002       12-12-2003, 6:41 AM Reply
Between Thanksgiving & Super Bowl is probably the worst time to be selling a boat. If you can hold off until spring you'll get a lot more money, if you need to sell it immediately you'll need to drastically reduce the price to stir any interest.

How long is Police Academy training that you have to get rid of your boat ?

the acadamy is 6 months long. Its intense and there is no way i can work during it. I live on my own and make truck payments so i cant make all the payments with the savings i have. I just wont have enough.

If they well make extra money and keep the loan it well work for both of you. Give it a try. If you want to keep it. Could be better than the money you are going to lose. It never hurts to ask. I got them to drop my rate a year later.

I have heard of people being able to take a "holiday" for 2 months and then I have also heard of making INterest only payments--that way the bank gets there money and still does not have to go the REPO. route.

Kev,
Not sure on the pricing, but seems about right to me. However, you might want to clean up the add a bit. There is so much information that nothing really stands out. You might want to summarize and bullet, for example:
--Boss Tower w/racks
--Ballast System
--Meticulously maintained
Also, accentuate the positive, but never lie about the negative.
...I think you get the idea.

Kevin - Look at David Tomatoes' posting about taking over payments for a boat under the "Classified Ads-wanted to buy" then "Boats under 5 yrs old" thread. Maybe he can help. good luck.

Kevin, I take it you are putting yourself through the academy. I think almost all departments pay you while you attend the academy. If you can hold out wait till you get hired and then roll through on the departments dime that way you can keep the boat.

Kevin, we have an '03 Centurion promo boat that we have had on Boattrader, Flipsell, the KC Star, etc. and not one serious call. I think it is all the time of the year. We are asking $28,500 and it is loaded. Late model boats are hard to sell for the most part, the worst thing for us is we need to order our '04 but don't want to do it before we sell.

Someone want to make an offer???

March is when people start to buy used boats. Boat shows rule Jan and Feb with new boats. May is the sweet spot.

If you need to sell it sooner, marketing is the key. Unfortunately, it is expensive. Look at weekly publications in FL, LA, TX, CA to move it sooner.

Good luck.

Nick, I noticed you have an 03 centurion. Just was curious as to how you like the wake on it? How is the shape? rampy, vert, both? and how do you have it weighted? I live in NC and was looking at the 04 lightning as well as the Avalanche, and was curious to how you like your boat? Tried sending you a pm, but just does not seem to work. thanks

The 1,000,000 light in the add might put people off as it would draw over 83 thousand amps at 12V and the cable needed to supply that would be fatter than my belly, not to mention the additional fuel usage from the huge generator needed to power it and the lack of storage space as more than half the boat would be taken up by the generator.

Million candle power may be closer to the mark.

Price determines length of time on market...thats what we say in real estate. Lower the price.

Here's the best Advice you can get. Put some
pictures on the internet. After an hour of
trying to download your zip files and killing my
speedy 56k connection. I've lost interest.

You gotta make it easier for prospective buyers to see your product. I don't care if it's the best thing since Canned Beer if you don't show us We'll never know. If I had to email every guy for pictures of his boat I'd need a 250 meg hard drive.

Since I can't see it maybe you could tell me
what color it is?

Thanks
