bobby. you truly deserve to be a malibu owner. you already believe that a malibu is built better then a mastercraft. spoken like a true malibu owner. just kidding man. have a great time picking one out and post picts when you get it.

Bobby,

Did the X-45 have a muffler? My X Star doesn't, so that could be the problem with being loud. With a muffler, I don't think that it's very loud at all.

As far as which is better, that's up to you, and what you like. I personally like the 45 better, and I think that it's bigger inside. I love snap out carpet, and that's not available on the LSV. I like the picklefork bow for looks and for space. I like the bow ladder too, and so do the kids.

Build qualiy wise, I've owned both, and had no problems with either, but I know this for sure, the fiberglass layup is thicker in the MC. Both boats have lifetime hull warranties, so maybe it doesn't matter.

Dealer has a lot to do with your decision as well. Go with the better dealer, because you will be married to them after the sale.

Why is the Nautique 230 not an option?

Here is how I would line up some of the bigger boats (leaving Epic out just because its clearly the best stock wakeboard boat over 23ft.)

1. SAN 230 (seating = awesome --- wake = awesome)
2. X-45/35 (45 for size - 35 for wake)
3. Supra 24ssv (seating - meaty wake)
4. Tomcat (look awesome, lotta stock ballast)
5. RZ4 (look great, better on gas with TAPS)
6. moomba XLV (a LOT of boat for a less $$$)
7. Malibu (nice boat but overpriced)

but again, if i was buying a new 23+ ft. boat it would be Epic hands down

If you still ski its nice to have the trim tab on the x45 because you can put it down and soften the wake up and get the nose down. Both boats are nice. Buy the one that will accomadate your needs the most. Like everyone said. Test drive both then make your decision.

Thanks, Whether we are boarding, skating, surfing, tubing, or cruising the 45 has been a great performer. I will say compared to the BU, the 45 has tons of room up front and the trim plate allows for quick adjustment.

I have the 23' LSV and my buddy has the 45. Both are great boats with a lot to offer. Each have their high and low points. I wouls say demo them both and get what works for you. You can't go wrong with either.

X-45 (i've ridden behind and driven a 2008).. I do not like the loud droning sound of the engine (sounds a little like the 8.1L volvo motor EPIC put in their first boats), way too loud. Mastercrafts tower/board racks are second to none.

I do like the wake plate to help shape the wake.

Malibu LSV23 (2007) quieter motor and solid feel in chop, and I like the interior better. I prefer how malibu put less bow space, and more room in the back, its like a limo compared to mastercraft. even the X-45 does not feel like a 24' boat because they move the driver area towards the rear to make a huge bow area. no way is better, just preference.

go ride the wake and drive them, thats what matters most. I've ridden behind both and both wakes are a lot different.

i like the 23 lsv better my buddys parents have both... two marriges and anyways i love the 23 lsv just because its comfortable, quiet and has alot of great features...

i dont like the x 45 because its loud, it feels cheap to me, and we had 12 people full ballest and it took what seemed for ever to plane out, and thats full throttle.
