I realize this has been up a few times but i am still not sure. I had a pair of Watson open toe 06 last summer and they got damaged so i am getting a new pair of 07 this year. I am not sure to go for the open toe again or the closed toe. Can you give me your opinions on the pro and cons. I was under the impression the closed toe were better but when i look at most of the rider they seem to still be wearing the open toe. Is it just a case of good marketing

The only verdict that I've reached from Joe's post is that someone needs to get him some video to edit!

Joe thanks for spending so long getting all those discussions together. Its called a chat room and if I had wanted a list of chats on the topic I could have looked them up myself.
Hopefully I might be able to get an answer from someone who has tried both of these pairs of bindings.

I heard that Ronix was coming out with a new boot philosophy. Apparently its an open heel. The thinking is that removing the material around your heel allows it to settle deeper into footbed and really lock your heel into place, I guess it allows you to edge 12% more bodaciously!!!

In other news, "the gnar" has reportedly fled for fear of the imminent slayshing it is about to receive.

The verdict is in!! This topic sucks!! (again)

not only does the lack of material lock your heel in, but it also shaves 4.8 ounces of weight, on average, per pair.
