You know after watching this again I would like to point something out.

This is exactly what its like to ride with Colin, he goes out lays down some hammers, takes a break for 1 second (in the vid around 1:30) then he's back out. Just when you thought he cuold not get any sicker on his wakeboard, he starts stomping even hard and sick tricks, like the giant double grab 3, Hoochies to Blind, Nines, Sevens, TS BS 5's its crazy!

This guy is really really good. Why is he not riding the tour?

Dave Williams: How about a Rider Link for this cat? Or did I just miss it? I've always wondered why he's not on tour or riding with those guys in Orlando...he's SO good. Does he have a 9 to 5 or what? If he rode year round with some of those guys pushing the sport...look out!

I don't like speaking on behalf of people, but I know he doesn't get on here much, so I'll share just a few reasons (that I know of) why Colin doesn't compete. Hopefully he doesn't mind.

He's a family man and a working man - he's married, has 3 year old daughter (who's adorable!), he has a new son on the way...just a few more months, he's a nurse at one of the hospitals in Minneapolis, and he's just starting back-up in school to get his masters (or whatever the equivalent is for nursing stuff).

Hey Colin,

Which organization are you working for in Minneapolis? I work for Epic, wondering if you're using our software. Most of Minnesota, especially the Twin Cities, is on Epic.

Great riding, as always!

^^Wonder how good he could be if he was a full time rider. Amazing just doing it part time.

Thanks for all the kind words. Believe me there isn't a day that goes by I don't think about riding year round. There are a few main reasons I don't ride year round or do the tour. When i was 25 my wife and I found out we were having a child. She is now 3 and hilarious. It is like hanging out with a schizophrenic 3 foot tall person. Always entertaining. That year we were really considering moving south until that happened. Also, I have been working on a degree in anesthesia and will be done nov 2011. A career in anesthesia has always been a goal of mine. I also love a lot of other sports and spend a lot of time riding mountains out west in the winter. On that note, I would like to ride a few comps but working full time it is tough to get the time off. Anyway, I love riding with my crew as I am sure the rest of you do too. Making memories with fam and friends in the boat on a wakeboard. I'm on the boat!

well all I have to say is that your riding and attitude toward family and life are both very admirable....

keep rippin'....and good luck with the anesthesia thing....sounds like you'll be headed to the bank in 2012! peace

Water Dork,

Here's a good story for you.

Colin and I met at a wakeboard contest, like maybe 6-7 years ago. Pre-Babies. Anyway, I rode good, thought I had a chance at taking the $$$, but then Colin Rides and absolutely KILLS IT. Stomps everything Clean and HUGE!!!! Fast forward like 2 days. Colin comes out to ride with me. First pass down the lake, he does a few wake jumps, couple big slayshes. Then Signals me for a Dub. I roll a Meaty kinker Dub, This kid CHARGES into it like no one I have ever seen, BLASTS A HOOCHIE That was enourmous, I am screaming (I am a double up screamer can't help it I get so stoked), then out of NO WHERE IT PULL IT TO BLIND! Stomps it clean like it was no big deal.

This picture below is the same shot as that last Hoochie, Kyle Chattin took the Video and Ryan Taylor was shooting stills.

Nice man. I keep wondering about how these guys with real jobs and families find time to get so freakin good.

He's alright As good as Ryan Taylor's vids are it's hard to appreciate how big he goes from film. I've been lucky enough to see him ride from the boat a few times and the kid goes freaking HUGE!! There is no question he could make serious noise on the tour if he chose to do it. Props Colin for putting your family first. You got to come out and shred some pow with us this winter.

Nice filming and edit work Ryan.

If there were more riders with this mentality, the wakeboard world would start getting the respect and recognition that it deserves from other extreme and board sports. Just excelling at something you love while not ignoring your other responsibilities and goals. Mad props man, mad props.

p.s. I love your Hiero reference
