Well after much debate this seems to be the new boat stereo set up.

Tower:
Two JL Audio 8w3v2 subs
Four JL Audio XR650-CXI Coaxials
JL Audio 450 X 4 amp

Boat:
Deck: Sony MP 80 ESP Limited Edition
Changer: Sony 10 disc CDX-757MX
Wired remote

Six JL Audio VR650-CXI Coaxials.
JL Audio 450 X 4 amp to run those.

Three JL Audio 12w6v2's one under the drivers dash and two under the passenger dash.
JL Audio 1000/1 Amp to run those.

That seems to be it for now. The shop and I are comming up with some good install ideas to make it all come together. Now if only the boat would get here so we can get started.

Travis' last boat's system was epic, this one reportedly will be so loud it will probably be illegal in most states, lol.

these are whats going in my west marine enclosures as soon as i get the tweeters (they are 8" ) should sound good as long as i opt for the bigger amp, 300 watts just wont cut it with them

Travis, how are you gonna wire the 450/4's up to the speakers. I noticed that the 1+2 channels are 150x2 and the 3+4 channels are 75x2. I was looking at using this amp also but i couldnt come up with a good idea on how to split the unequal channels.

I believe there running four speakers off the rear channel and two off the front. It puts the amp at a higher load. I will ask them today for sure.

I was talking to the JL tech line today about what speakers to use where and they said save the money and use VR series stuff. The advantages of the XR stuff won't translate to a loud boat invironment. Thought you might wanna hear that opinion cause i know how much JL stuff costs... I'm way broke!

Wha-at? You're not making them yourself? From Billet? After a wood prototype?

Shame on you

In the old boat I had 4 JL 10's and four JL 6 1/2"s the rest was Kicker. It sounded awesome. The new boat should sound even better.

phaeton- or anyone else - where can a find a connector piece for the wires going up to the tower? from the tower to the hull? the lights and speakers that came with the boat have it to where i can unhook it if the tower needs to be removed. i am now adding more speakers. anyone know?

Here is a company that makes nice small water resistant connectors able to handle 14awg wire:

Give them a look!
