I've been cheering for Dungey the last two years, and this race will tell you why. he has usually been getting the hole-shot, but it wasn't really a surprise to me when Windham got it this race. Dungey came back from mid-pack and took the lead a few laps in and held everybody off until the end.

I will say I was on the edge of my seat when the battle between Hill, Stewart, and Dungey was going on! Dungey ended up rocketing past both of them for the lead, but Hill held off both Stewart and Dungey for a good amount of time proving he deserved to be up front. It was a great race overall.

How about that Mastercraft commercial? wasn't it from Rewind 09'? I'm pretty sure it was the first Mastercraft commercial I've seen on basic cable.

I am pumped to see a good guy like Dungey doing well this year. It is nice to see. I keep waiting for RV to give him a run but it hasn't happened yet.

It is interesting how Stroupe gets these killer starts than falls way back into the pack. He is like the new Mike Alessi this season I guess.

No, The actual race is tonight for sure. I'm pretty sure it'll be televised tomorrow.

Why is Stewart racing tonight?? does he realize his position in the points?

Ben, I am with you. I don't want to know results before I get a chance to see for myself. It might be difficult though. Husband and both son's are already on their way to the race. I guess I'll have to walk around with ear plugs on after they get home until it airs tomorrow.

Rough Night for Dungey

true that becky, what is amazing is that he got up and finished after that crash. we were sitting right there in front of that triple and i was mainly watching vp and hill, i started to scan around for dungey and right when i looked over at him i saw him try to seat bounce that triple into a superman seat grab. it was crazy. what a great night of racing though. hats off to canard, and and poto.

I am hoping that he is OK. His ankles and legs had to take a lot of shock. The way he ran back to his bike and finished the race looked like he was alright. But that could have been adrenaline taking over. I am sure he is feeling it today. This is going to be an exciting season, with Stewart and Reed out. Hate to see anyone hurt, but like to see some others getting a chance to show their skills.

I could see him trying to slam that back brake to level him out, but he missed it. He might have stayed on the bike if he was able to get to the brake

wow best race of the season so far!! i checked on bubbas website and it didnt mention that he would be out for the season, just a week by week basis. i think the win will do alot for rv's confidence. i think he is faster than dungey but just isnt very confident(maybe doesnt have the conditioning either) after his crash last year. remember tho that rv was that fastest guy at the mxdn back in 08, and that was on a 250!!! the dude can fly i hope with this win he's back. dungey's ride reminded me of his 08 season, fast but crashed alot too.

My friend was in Ryan's pit area after both races and he said Dungey's crash in the heat race left him with baseball-sized burn marks on his back, which didn't really have any effect on his riding. In the main event, he missed the same triple because he hit the gas a little too hard and it sent him out of his line coming out of the corner and he went down hard. He was so angry after the race, he stormed into his trailer, threw his helmet down, and started punching his workbench and wouldn't talk about it.

He trains really hard for every race and is so dedicated to his riding. When he takes a bad fall, it just encourages him to do even better the next race.

I think your right Alan. Don't think it has been confirmed that Stewart is out for the season. I think it is just assumed because a broken scaphoid usually requires a long recovery. He did have the best orthopedic surgeon do the surgery. If any surgeon can perform miracles it is Dr.Ting. He did the surgery on my son Brandon (BG Kong) when Brandon had to have a cadaver ACL replacement and had his whole Knee reconstructed in 2001. Recovery normally would have been a year and a half. Brandon was back on the football field in 4 months. Probably wasn't very smart though.

becky doesnt morais have a place up at mcClure next to you guys?

you know who rode decent was that max ?anstene? kid. made the main, picked off a few finished i think in the top 10. we rode with him on friday at club and let me tell you he's fast. from talking to him he sounds like is training hard and i could see him be a threat in the furture.

Bryan, Don't think Ryan Morais has a place up here as far as I know. His family is from Turlock which is close by though. Kenny Roberts Jr. has a houseboat up here and don't know if you remember Doug Chandler, but he is a pro dirt tracker from the past. He also had a houseboat next to ours.
You well have to come up and go riding with Brandon and my husband. There are some pretty good areas to ride if you like single track stuff.

Just re-watched the lites race. Bryan, you are right, Anstie looked great, ended up 8th. Think he's really young too. It will be fun to watch his career. I was also impressed with Hahn. Crappy starts but picking them off one by one. Decided its official, don't care much for Hanson.

Bryan, Don't know if you talk to Brandon very often, but he's the guy to talk to. He plays the mxonline game with some of these guys during the week. Morais, Weimer, and Seeley during this last week. Thats how I got the scoop about Stewart's Surgery before it was posted.

Becky, which 300 does your son have? EXC? I'm thinking about converting mine to 300SX...give me something to do until I heal from this injury

Ben, Brandon has a 300 MXC, Derek has a 300 EXC, and my husband has a 380 EXC. How is your back doing anyway? Feeling any better?

Bryan, you are welcome up here anytime. Don't know what your work schedule is like, but My husband and Derek sometimes go during the week. My husband is always willing to go any time. Sometimes its hard to get Brandon to come up unless they are going riding. They go to Coulterville (dog town) or a place called Miami Creek. Brandon has talked about getting the CIE guys to come up and spend a weekend on the houseboat. Wakeboard one day ride bikes the next.
Also we belong to a club called TBSA (trail bike sportsman Assoc.) it is a family type thing with all levels of riding, Kids and wives included. They usually plan an outing once a month. The biggest ones are Easter weekend at Stonyford. The Easter Bunny even shows up for the little ones. The memorial weekend outing is a good one too. They run a Jr. trails for the kids, and a hot dog run for the whole family. Then a lot of bench racing around the campfire after a huge pot luck dinner. If you are interested in checking out the club, our next outing is weekend after next. It will be up here at Dog Town. Brandon will be there too. E mail me at becknlynn@tds.net. I will give you Brandon's new phone number if you don't have it. Maybe you could ride up with him or something. If you don't have an Rv to stay in at the outing, Brandon and Derek just got a new/old one that has plenty of room.

By the way Bryan, I got side tracked and didn't answer your question, sorry. MXonline is some X box game thing. Brandon wears a headphone and talks to the other players. They have tournaments just about every night and keep track of points. Brandon got hooked on it while he was recovering from his broken Tib & Fib. He spent the first couple weeks up here. And I never saw him he was always in the back room playing that darn game. I used to tease him about becoming one of those gamers that live in their mother's basement.

Ben, I wish I could still ride. I haven't rode in years. Actually my last bike was an XR 250. I liked the four strokes. It was a very heavy bike, but it was forgiving of my mistakes. I found I was picking it up a lot less than the two strokes LOL. Yep,they are big time KTM fans. But that has just been recently. Brandon had a KX 250 before this bike, Derek had a RM 250, hubby had a KX 500.
Are you going to have a MRI done on your back?
I hope the doc does one. It took years for me to finally get one done. Couldn't get Kaiser to do it. After we left Kaiser. It was finally done. Orthopedic Doctor said it was way beyond anything he could fix, and I should have had surgery 20 years ago. Not good news. He also said not to ride in the Boat. What was he Nuts?
It's not like were on a friggen ocean. I just brace myself when I know were about to hit a double up. Take care of that back. You have many good riding years left.

Wow, your husband likes those big bore 2 strokes huh? My dad used to have a CR500, that thing gave me nightmares!

Haven't had an MRI yet, I'm going to wait another week. If getting in and out of my chair is still a dreadful task I'll get one done.

Last night at A3 I saw some of the best battles I've seen so far this year. Not only the main but the heats were pretty competitive for the most part. Definitely a good time, I'll be interested to see if they broadcast on TV at the correct time so that I can see some of the crashes that I missed.

I'm trying not to spoil it for those who are waiting to watch on TV!

From racerxonline.com

Star Racing's Max Anstie crashed in his heat race at Anaheim III this past weekend and injured his hip. We got updated on his condition from Star Racing's team coordinator Donovan Mitchell:

"Max originally was thought to have a badly broken hip and needed surgery today. But, Sunday, after more X-rays by a specialist, they have it diagnosed as a fractured hip. No surgery is needed as of now, and today he is set to see what happens after he puts weight on it. After that, more X-rays will assess if surgery is needed. However, the thinking is it won’t be needed and maybe a recovery time of eight weeks will be sufficient. The doctor today said he could be leaving on Tuesday. He’s in really good spirits. He finds the bright things in everything. He says this little deal just makes him all the more tougher, and gives him more confidence in the long run by everything not coming easy. As always, Max wants to get working hard, and really appreciates his sponsors and fans."

Pretty good main event for both the lites and the big bikes. I wouldn't mind it at all if Jason Lawrence just goes away. He doesn't seem to bring anything to the table other than causing confusion with rider after rider. I guess one thing I can be happy about is I don't really have to worry about seeing him get on the podium anymore with his arrogant attitude towards everyone who isn't in his clique.

A punk he may be but the punks also make the "good guys" look better and they create a buzz around the industry. Hate to say it but drama sells. It makes things 10 times as interesting. Im willing to bet that the whole Stewart-Reed deal is mostly fabricated to make people more attracted to one or the other.

This has been an exciting season even with the top 2 being out. Until Villopoto crashed last week it looked like it would be tight all the way. Now he will probably have to hope for a Dungey crash or DNF to bring the points close again. I was telling my wife it's similar to Stewarts placing in A1 last year and Villopoto has a similar climb to get back into things. I don't know if he can go on a streak and win 5-6 races in a row or not.

I am definitely looking forward to Daytona tonight, it tends to be my favorite track every year.

Oh yeah, J-Law=Boooo he's more irritating than anything.

Last weekend was crazy. Seems like everyone was having problems. I agree this year has been fun to watch because I really don't know who is gonna win. Every weekend there's 4-5 guys that could do it. I am stoked to see K-Dub running up front. And last week Canard getting on the podium on the big 45zero Honda- NICE! Its always cool to sneek a peek at some ones potential when their not in that class full time yet. Makes me look forward to one more guy in the mix. Good for the sport.

Daytona was a fasssst track! Very good races all around. Villopoto was tearing it up the whole time, it would have been extremely hard for anyone to catch him at that pace. Any update on Grant Langston? That was a filthy crash that he had in the main.

Trey Canard's finish in Jacksonville was bad azz. He's gonna go back to lites and feel like he's on a bicycle. He's totally ready for 450's.

Canard is absolutely ready. I don't want to see him go back to the lites...I enjoy watching him on the big bike. He's going to be a real game changer next season. Does anyone know when Stewart is coming back? I'm curious to see how Villapoto and Dungey will do when he's back on the starting gate

What a race Today . Happy for Dungey. Hope Villopoto will be OK ( looks like maybe a broken leg)
Not sure of what to make of his ride though. Didn't like the way he took Dungey out. I don't think he did it on purpose. At least I hope not. Thinking that maybe adrenaline got the best of him and he lost focus. Then it just got worse, which caused his crash. It has been a very exciting season for sure.

I really don't think he did it on purpose (the takedown i mean). looks like he saw an opportunity to shut him down in that turn in some lapper traffic and just got a bit overzealous. as far as the crash, i too hope he's okay but i'm guessin' he's out for a while, which pretty much takes him out of it. even one week. Dungey is just too far ahead now (unless he gets hurt too, God forbid). Good race though. Poor Dungey though didn't know what to say in the post race intervew w/speed channel. He was concerned for R.V. but it kinda was sinking in that he could be the champ this year. I like him.

I though villopoto broke his back on that one the way he landed on his butt and it shocked thru his head, glad it's something he can quickly recover from for next year. Although I love watching the Stewart Reed drama it's nice to see some new guys gettin up in there.

It didn't look like RV tried to take out dungey, he was focused on the turn not on Dungey. karma may have reared her ugly head regardless
