Good or Bad Boat???

Just wondering what anyone thinks of this boat on ebay. I'm not sure about an engine that old (1989)... if I was to go look at it, or drive it, any advice what I should ask or look for?

Also, what would be too much to pay... in your opinion?

That thing is surprisingly clean. I really question the sellers description of his tricks behind that boat with no tower and no mentioned ballast. You will have to sac it hard to get a big wake.

Well, I'm behind a 1990 Malibu Euro f3 Skier right now.. it's got a tower, but I've never really used sacs. Do you think the wake would be about the same??? Actually, I'm more concerned about the boat being so old, than having a big wake... kind of leary of a boat that old. Do you think a tower would fit on it??? Thanks!

I spent a summer behind one but with a closed bow many years back and the wake was tiny even sacked out. I could still throw some inverts off of it though.

If you're looking for something like this in this price range then get a Ski Nautique 2001. I use to have one and the wake is killer sacked out. you can see it in my profile.

While a Ski Nautique might produce a better wake, for me personally I would go for the mastercraft for the room. Having a small ski boat gets old when you are tying to relax. While the nautique is a great boat it is not the best for everyone.

Kal I dont know your situation but if you can afford an extra 200$ a month you can buy a brand new boat bro. Moomba outback was my first boat like you I was looking at used boats. You cant trust them. If you have 10k and put that down on a Moomba outback your payments will be about 200$ a month. It has an Indmar motor just like malibu and you get 300hr warranty.Also when I bought mine I only put 5k down and still had equity in the boat when I sold it 3 yrs later.I had a ten yr. note as well. Im just trying to help bro. Like I said I dont know your situation but Moomba is a great boat to start out with.Dont let people tell you they are cheap either. The reason they cost less is because they dont have all the upgrades there like a civic If you will. There basic,dependable and you can trick them out like I did. Good Luck!

Tristars are one of my favorite older boats. The wake is nice if you sac it out. You will need around 2000lbs. You can put a tower on it. I had a titan on mine. I could throw anything behind the tristar that I can behind my current supersport nautique. The reason I got rid of the tristar was space inside. It gets tight when you have 2k worth of ballast laying around. If you need more info or pics drop me an email.
