That wakeboarders are always depicted as the bad guys?

Check out this new commercial released by the DBW here in Ca.

If you don't have a fast Internet connection, go here http://www.dbw.ca.gov/videos.htm, and click on the Boating and Alcohol II link.

Well, it's about alcohol and we all know most jet skiers are dangerous even without alcohol so...

Slalom skiers never do anything wrong.

Wow! That is soooooo wrong.
They could have achieved the same
effect using identical boats, both
with families, with one drinking and the other
not.
They made the wakeboard boat seem like the only
bad guy on the water.

kind of funny, saturday the worst people on the water were in a little jon boat with an outboard. 3 young people probably 20 yrs old WASTED driving around all crazy, no pfds. they wanted us to make them a big wake so they could jump it. we proceeded to go far away from them. a lot of the fishermen out there admittedly simply go 'fishing' just to drink. you ask them if they caught anything, they say 'no we were drinking more than fishing' another time we towed a jet-ski that had died. the people had been chillin in the (alligator infested) water for about half an hour before we came across them. they said their friends probably didn't notice them being gone because they were high.

anyway, they were probably depicting the rich wallys that go out and buy an expensive ski boat because it is the 'thing to have' although they have never been boating and don't know what they are doing, do powerturns, etc.

Well, one thing the public has a perception about is "Ganstas". I'm not saying it's right or wrong, but perception is equating the loud music to the booming car music, the "Bling" to inner city kids and the finger signs - you guessed it, to gang sign.

I can't understand how they'd ever get that perception.

Tim has it partially right, if you portray your self one way, don't expect the public to percieve you another way. That goes for cars, trucks, boats, snow/water sports ... ...
