Walt - is the Scow weighted? Looks pretty low, but could just be a low freeboard. Just like Derek's Supra in the first pic.

Mike, I run two 600 pounds sacks down the sides and a few hundred pounds of lead up front. With four or five people and the ballast it gets with in four inches of the rub rail.

It is a marine K&N; USCG approved. http://store.summitracing.com/default.asp?target=/egnsearch.asp&N=400171 Unlike when i've put one in a car, it actually improved performace. Added 200 RPM on the top end.

I dont know how to move pics around But if anybody saw the EPIC SHASTA HOUSEBOUT thread my boat was the 1986 "2001". It held its own over the weekend against the super air and vlx. I was pleasantly suprised.

Maxum 210ss V drive. Yes maxum did dable in the v drive market in 96/97. The boat is identical (different colors) to the bayliner wakechallenger which was available 96 to 98. The hull is still used to this day by Lewis boats in Australia and is their wake specific boat. I've only used it twice since getting her as I got her at the end of the season in the UK. The wake is very nice and has stacks of room as well as being kitted out with heater, shower etc as standard. Roll on next summer! ive been experimenting.. The best so far is a launch sofa in the back and a fat sac up front I think its around 400 pounds in the front.. I also usually ride with three people and put passangers up front. Im also running the acme 643 prop. Im going to ditch the sofa and buy the launch side sacs. The sofa fit is hard to work with and doesn't fit right.

Yeah, I would think that the sofa would be too wide for the narrow older boats. I run about 500 on the back, and then about 300 on each side of the engine. With 3-4 people sitting up front, it puts out a pretty decent wake.

1991 Malibu Sunsetter. I use about 400 pounds of lead, a 600 lb sac in front of the rear seat, a 250 lb sac on each side of the engine, and a 300 lb sac in the front ski locker.

Sam that plastic cover on the top of the bow would look good made out of 1/4 diamond plate. I made one for my 99 launch. I used the origanal for a pattern and then cutt out with jiggsaw. SWEET BOAT!!!

Loki:It's not the sport... just a plane old Ski Nautique Open Bow (SNOB). She needs about 1000 lbs of ballast and 3-4 people before the wake starts to really pop. I board with quit a few novices though (me included) and everyone that goes out with me thinks 3-4 people is enough to make the wake big enough to learn on. With the narrow beam it definitely doesn't take as much weight to get the boat lower in the water.
